The new Alternator has just one power connection B+ which goes straight to + side of battery.(follow the lead)
Disconnect the external regulator.
The N is the connection for the charge warning light in the dash...you don't need to connect this to get the alternator working.
Don't run the motor with battery disconnected you can do real damage to car electrics!
To test the alternator: measure battery volts..13.8 approx is charge volts, look for this when fast idle and lights on (and also off too).
