My '93 2wd weighed in a 1200Kg. This could be less if I had an Alloy tray (close to 1150 or less) 4WD version?? have to be at least 1300Kg.

My friend has just built a 1990 hilux with a 1ggte in it. It took 10 months and approx $18000 to build. As far as fitting the engine we fitted a supra box, (original g/box mounts) 12mm plate to move the engine mount holes foward 50mm and two t/fans. Took a day of work and got it registed and blue plated drove it 200km's and got it weighed 1380kg. Then we were driving it to get a wheel alignment and a women pulled out in front of us. $15000 worth of damage.

Are you sure... Because NRG in Sydney we're one of the first to fit a 1GGTE in to a Lux, Have detailed photo's of the conversion and it was outlined in Hot4's Issue 20 and there was no moving of engine mounts I'm definately 100% sure the whole 22R engine and gearbox bolts straight into a Corona and celica and I'm 100% sure that the distances between the gearbox mount and engine mounts on the 1GG's match this perfectly, only the height becomes a problem. I also know was the price of the 1GGTE's in 1994 stopped me from fitting one to my hilux which ended the same way as your mates.
