they take H4 type globes, i recently replaced mine with "superwhite" type globes, they cost me 40 bucks, but i didn't want to by autotechnica dodgy ones (might have been ok)
to get them out, there is a wire clip that holds them in, pull the rubber cover off first and look for the loop on the end of the bit of wire. this kinda fits behind a hook, you can work out how it all works once you pull the globe out (i worked it out on a headlight i pulled out of my parts car)
i was going to run higher wattage ones, but was a little paranoid about meting the headlight housing, as they aren't the easiest things to get. the "white" bulbs definately look better though, might have to try the relay trick.
