1GGTE speed sensor? Wed, 02 April 2003 23:03 Go to previous message
Okay, getting towards the last of the wiring on my 1G conversion. For now I'm sticking with the factory ECU... need some advice. The 1G/Supra runs a digital dash from the factory, so the speedo cable plugs into a little speed sensor behind the dash that runs back to the ECU and them comes back to the dash again and into the speedo

What I need to know is.. does this just convert the signal from analogue to digital... or is this important to the ECU? Does it adjust timing or fuelling by using the speed sensor in combination with other inputs? Seeing as it has a 180km/h speed limiter, will the car actually run with no sensor, or will it assume that no signal means it's doing over 180 and therefore not allow me to move?

Seem to be a lot of 1G boys on here, anyone done this?
