I am doing the 18rc to 18RGEU conversion and just have a few questions that I need to find the answers for. I have a carbie engine that I am putting the efi manifold and other gear onto. the trouble is i have a few things missing.
One is a valve of sorts the hav a 2 wire connector to it and a few hoses from the intake chamber. What is this for? I guessed that it has to do with cold starting. do I need this? One reason for going efi is for easier starting. so if this help I will get one from a early camry which has one and is the same model I am using the ECu from (2SE).I don't have a picture of the valve assembly but in the picture below,the hose coming from the throttle body goes underneath the plenum towards the head and then connects to the bottom of this valve.
The second Question is related to the ECU. From a diagram I found on the net for the 2SE(below) it doesn't have an Oxygen sensor??? But it does has pinouts for a vacumm switching valve. I take it that this is what I am after. Also this car was made around 1985. But the original ECU for the 18rgeu had one. Another thing is I found some infomation on the error codes for my ECU. In this it states an error code for th O2 sensor?
