Tim,

from memory the difference between the tacho's are the way the electronic signal is pulsed. In normal 4a the tacho wire is pulsed at 12V, and from the GZE its a low level signal of 5V (or the other way around). Either way there is ALWAYS a mechanism to have your tacho work. Otherwise i have a spare autometer you can buy (from the white '92).
The speedo - yes, the dude above is right. Bolting in a mechanical drive will work, although it MIGHT be an idea to try and get a whole range of them otherwise Mr speedo might be out a fair bit (depends if final gear ratio is different from 4ac to 4agze).

And im still gathering info for you dude. Im going to try to get up there this week or next weekend to have a look at it all
