These are rather, shall we say, optimistic prices. Say you hit paydirt and actually get a 2JZGTE for 3500, we should then investigate the 1550 for 'installation'.
Did you ask the shop what 'installation' actually means? Again, I'm going to hazard another guess that you simply called a shop and asked,"How much to put a 2JZGTE into an XR Falcon?" I'll say that that price will NOT include all the custom intercooler pipe work that will be required, all the stuffing around to get a speedo to work, all the tidying, removing the ancillaries you won't need, hooking the auto to the column shift, an EFI fuel system and all the little things you haven't even thought about. I think you will find that all that $1550 (a bizarre number don't you think? Why 1550? Why not quote you 'around 1500?') includes is 2 engine mounts, a modified gearbox crossmember and a big AMFYOYO.
I suggest you have a chat to someone who has actually done it. I also suggest you budget upwards, or just put a Holley 2 barrel and a straight thru exhaust on the 221 that's in this XR of yours.
