In most cases the recomendation is for the customer so the plugs are not getting changed every 40,000km's (in which case the 4afe and in 20,000kms for the 4afc)With the platinums they last 100,00kms, (try changing the plugs in a v6 camry/avalon every 40,000km's when the car is hot).And while on the topic which is better try running 26psi in those tyres which most toyota light vehicles say ...its only for the ride quality and destroys the tyres too.
