The 3t-gte beats rb20det

Went for a cruise yesturday up Newcastle way. Had a mate with a rb20det in 280z come along. Anyway for a bit of fun and to get an idea of power differences we cruised along at about 90km/h then at the same time floored both cars.. The 3t-gte pulled away from the rb quite easily. Both are running stock boost also.
Anyway was quite happy with that.. Except another mate with a g63b starion engine in a lancer left both the rb and 3t for dead
hmmm have to get an IC and more boost!

Are you talking about an old Lancer? As in the old Chrysler ones? Much better than a shoddy rice-mobile

I know the feeling...I USED to have one
Only difference was mine was an 82 JA Starion with an engine from an 89 JDM Starion. Pity it wasn't a DASH, but it was intercooled which was a bonus

Where did you pull 750kg from dude? You've underestimated the RA28 weight, and overestimated the 280ZX weight. If you're going to have a whinge, get it right!
And why did you dregde up such an old thread?

Ok, so you add weight to the 280ZX but not the RA28? An RA28 weighs about 1000kg+ before you add this fuel and driver. Magically, adding a twin-cam head and a turbo and manifold and intercooler suddenly makes the 3TGTE makes it weigh less than a 2T-C?
Dude, you epitomize why age doesn't bring you intelligence. When you choose to contribute with facts rather than BS do so, but don't spout shit. Besides, I didn't make any boast, just pointing out that brown stuff coming from your mouth...I mean keyboard.

Whats your point here? Its called accelerating mass to velocity 165 horse power in 750 KG vs 250 in 1400 kg.
You had the equivalent of 50 horse power more.
Try out running one with the 25DTT engine and 400 kg lighter with no power nuttin, no air, no power steering no power windows, no power mirrors..and see how you survive against 500 horsepower.

Then try and stop from 200 k and see which car your celica or my four spot ventilated four-wheel disc brakes will stop.
You name time and place.

Whats your go you tool? I think he was just pointing out something that happened, dont think he was saying that his car could beat something with 500hp, besides that...his post was over 2 years ago

Haha thats funny
All the above cars mentioned (ra28, 280z, lancer) are off the road now. Bummer
But soon will be all back and better I hope.
Dunno what the shit is about with you RT104GT.. It was just a post about some mates of mine having some fun and the results.
But seeing as your undies are in a knot about weights and shit..
All the cars have been on a weight bridge for engineering requirements.
The RA28 cames in at 1120kg or so. That is with full tank of fuel and no driver.
The 280Z is hmm i think 1280kg again full tank fuel no driver.
The 75 Lancer was dead on 900kg.
So yeah definately some weight differences there, but also a wide variety of engines. It was just a comparison and some fun nothing more.
Cheers
Joel
