ke 25 corolla conversion Sat, 24 May 2003 12:00 Go to next message
Hey guys, i need some advice, can you put a 4k into a ke 25 and simply change the engine no with the rego dept? or does it have to go through regency. Is there something i should fill out on the engine change form?

When i replaced a tired 2tg in my ta22 i didnt have to go through regency. Also can the ke 25 have 12" wheels on the front and 13" wheels on the back, legally? Cheers Pete

difference being here that on the TA22, the 2TG was a factory option for the car, without any brake upgrades.
Whereas on your little KE25, the 4K was not a factory option, thus engineering etc is required. It would cost you all of bugger all to do though. Another viable option is a 2TG also! If i'm correct the KE25 runs a 3k, and KE30's (which stock ran 3K) had 2TG's in the spec'd up Trueno's and Levins.

I doubt if anyone is going to care or notice a 4K in a KE25. It will look stock, and not create any danger to the public. Get the car inspected at a local RAC for $20 and change the engine number on the rego papers. Or do nothing.

you do not need to engineer a 4k in sa

you do not need to put it through regency either

phone up transport sa and change the engine number on your regfo and the deal is done.
