Boost Cut on the 7M-GTE?? Thu, 15 April 2004 15:52 Go to next message
Hi Guys,
Ive got a Supra, with a 7M-GTE engine (obviously) and the factory boost cut has stopped me boosting it with my Profect B electronic boost controller. Now i have previously bought a turbosmart fuel cut defender, tuning house tried installing it but they couldnt get around the boost cut. I have also purchased a GReddy e-manage system but another place told me that it couldnt be installed to my engine because it wasnt written on the box. Only 1jz and 1g engines were 'compatable'+ other makes.
Any help towards my problem would be greatful!!
Cheers Cool

I'll give my mate a call tomorrow and ask him. I remember him having some trouble with his FCD when installing. His 7m would not go over 11psi from memory.

If noone else can help out... i will call him for you.

btw.. that power figure u quote on stock boost is impressive.
Apart from the obvious HG probs, they do make good power!

You will find the answers to your emanage questions on Supra forums (www.supraforums.com) apparently you wire it like a 1g??? anyway 280hp at the back wheels on stock boost!!!!???? how the hell did you get that!!! even the Turbo A was only rated at 265 flywheel!

I think we all know dyno figures should never be taken as gospel.

Me too.

How can you be hitting boost cut on stock boost as well ??????

What other mods are done ?

My car had about 155 rwkW on about 8 - 10 psi just before I bought it, and that equates to about 200 Hp - I'd love to get another 80 on "stock boost" Shocked

Ive only had the car a few months even the guys at the dyno were impressed.
ive got:
3" From turbo 4"tip & hi flowed cat
HKS Air filter
Ported and polished head
HKS metal head gasket
Heavy duty clutch
Also dont have a heat shield on my turbo so.... Rolling Eyes

Now for bbaacchhyy's question i have a GReddy ProfectB electronic boost controller everytime u wind it up it hits boost (.5) bar and cuts out at about 4000 RPM thats what it also says on my dyno 282.4hp at 4000rpm and cuts out engine lite etc.
The bloke who i spoke to he was suprised and also told me that i would be looking at 350hp Shocked at the rears when boosted up to about 14psi thats why i am so keen to boost it up!!
By the way my car was dynoed at speedworks which are well known and well respected. and i have print out of the dyno if everyone is interested.

Well thanks Allan i went to the supraforums web site and found the wiring diagram for the GReddy e-manage on the 7M-GTE. All i need now is the GReddy emanage software anyone?
