Well my car had a stated qtr mile time of 17.1sec when new and was subsequently tested by car mags to be correct.
My professionally rebuilt 7M is now 600km old and injectors are 1500km plus some other new bits. Can I claim 17.1sec or do I have to test it?

im just saying dude.. very improbable.. but if u can back it up with either a vid.. or someone i know who is credible see's it.. then i will apologise lol

car: seca sx
mods: K&N filter, hi flow cat, and cat back exhuast
0-100 - 8.8 sec and crunched going into 3rds
1/4 mile: will know very soon
i know the seca in question, both rolla gti and the seca sx ran at eastern creek, rolla gti getting 16.3, the seca sx 16.7, they both crossed the line just shifting to 4rth gear.
recently the seca sx ran at wsid (rolla gti ran it twice, and the owner ran the seca twice)this time the seca got 16.5 and crossed the line at the top of 3rd
strange i know, this time hoping rolla gti can cross the line of a 16.00 maybe better, not bad for a stock 4age

Rolla GTI maybe its not the track but more so the driving? To drop from a 16.8 or whatever and then get a 16 would be possible depending on which RPM gears are shifted and what not... As for the track being more downhill, i would agree that this would mean you would be changing into 4th sooner due to a high terminal speed?

I also agree with jag7799 and Boris. But could you not accredit the quicker time to the surface of WSID to Easter Creek? what were the 60 foot times in both case?
My 1/4 mile time will be posted after the 29th. Hoping for a 12 but as it is my first time and the cars first time I highly doubt it Oh well, practice makes perfect

i love seeing arguments about shit that some ppl have no idea what they r actually arguing about.
Quote: |

|
maybe, just maybe, since WSID has a much better track surface {read: stickier} it got a better launch and didnt take as long to get to the redline in 3rd so it didnt have to shift to 4th, maybe thats why it also ran a quicker time
Quote: |
AND if u were going down hill wouldnt that mean u speed up faster hence having to change earlier into 4th?
|
yes thats right, WSID goes downhill VERY slightly, 12 ft height difference fomr the start line to the finish
please post all the timeslips so we can evaluate the runs and make our own judgment

umm do you know why they would make a drag strip that goes down hill? Surely it couldn't be that hard to pack it up to level before putting the surface down?
bit silly if you ask me?
Maybe that is how the PAC mx6 ran so much faster?

12 ft decline? I seriously doubt it. I think that 12ft would be the incline from start line to sand trap.
I also belive that the IHRA rules only allow about a 4ft incline/decline.

13.4 @ 114 mph. Toyota Crown, 5ME turbo, supra auto.
0-100, dunno.
This weekend I'm venturing to the track this sunday for the maiden voyage with the 1FZ turbo. Should prove to be a LOT faster..........

It WAS a lot faster..............
11.65@108 (had to get off it before the line and rolled throught the lights-hence the low terminal velocity)
