2.4 camry altise vs charade

I was on my L's and in my mum's 2az-fe engined camry. Turned into a main road and accelerating normally. There was a Charade behind me, which I had noticed prior to taking the turn. After making the turn I heard the Charade revving hard. The driver was obviously trying to intimidate me(happens a lot), but the road was clear so I decided to race her. I would estimate it had a 10-15Km/h advantage on me. I took the engine past 3000 revs and realising that it was still gaining on me, went totally nuts and floored it. By the time I got to 95ks I had pulled about 4 car lengths in front, so I backed off and the other car did a flypast.
I know this was never going to impress anybody, but it was a great feeling teaching that full-license chick not to pick on noobs
And oh yea, I had done a lot of time on the road already so I felt pretty confident, but I was never going to do anything stupid.
Great forum, by the way.

lol charades are pretty easy to pull away from when you start to gain abit of speed. not to bragg against the charade of course. the go good in turbo form. I'm a big fan of the Camrys very well built car

Yea possibly, but from the way she was revving her engine up it was like she had something to prove.
To an L plater its also annoying when more experienced drivers act like they own you on the road and do all sorts of crazy shit.
Shortly after that little 'race' there was this holden cruz that swept into my lane on a narrow decending constant radius turn. I was pegged at a bit over the speed limit already, and there was only a small gap for him to come in. Bastard.

She wanted to prove that she, a fully licensed driver, in her charade could be you on your L's in a camry with your mum next to you. I've been on my L's too and it's true, people try and overtake you because they think you'll be going to slow and you are a lot more cautious on your L's even if the only reasin is mum or dad sitting next to you.
What did your mum say about it? I find it hard to believe she let your floor it...
In fact I know when I over take I have to rev the car up to gain speed because my car ain't the quickest thing off the blocks and I ocassionally get the arsehole who thinks I'm trying to take them on and speed up as well.
Either way she was a chick in a charade. Like anybody would care.
Just my 2 cents.

yeah i remember tools that found it fun to tail gate me even when I was doing the speed limit. But on your p's is not much better ppl still act like tools around you to try and test your patients. I admit p platers can be a bit stupid on the road but they only follow by example they see what others do and think that they might try some too.
Worst is trying to change lanes fuckwits always find it fund just to sit on your bumper in the lane you are trying to change into, one guy i was doing the speed limit put indicator on he sits there, I slow down he sits there, so I just dump it back to second and floor it and change into the lane, I was never going to hit him but it would be nice if other drivers gave ppl space on the road. The guy then started hurling abuse through his closed window so I wasn't exactly goin to hear him. But it just go to show how much of a prick some ppl are.
When I first got my P's was drivign me and my sis to school, turning into side street and this stupid bitch tries to turn into my car out of the side street. I'm like wtf are you doing your on a terminating road and thus have to give way yet she was the one road raging and yelling once again through a closed window. They think that they can get a way with it cos we are p platers and thus dont know the road rules but i got something coming for them, I just learnt the rules lady thus they are fresh in my head so shove your ignorance of the rules back with your 30yr old licence. Whilst they have expeirience they lack understanding of the law. My dad is a prime example of this, he hardly ever indicates when changing lanes or when coming out of a roundabout(no one does this but he didn't no the law unitl we learnt how to drive).

Of course my mum told me to slow down, but I was in control of the car so what was she gonna do. Plus flooring it in a 112kw 1.4tonne camry ain't such a big deal. It was all over by 95km/h and this was in a 3 lane 80 kay road that was devoid of all other traffic for at least the next 1.5 km ahead.
If ever it was alright to race on a public road, I woulda thought this was pretty close.
Ok, I agree I could have been the dickhead and that chick wasn't trying to show off at all, but I doubt this. She flew past me when I slowed back down to the speed limit.

This is precisely why I cared, cause at the rate I was accelerating a little charade would have had no reason to overtake me, except to show off. She was trying really hard.
If it had been a more powerful car, I would not have felt insulted.
Anyway, as I said in my first post, I never thought this was going to impress anybody. And I am a responsible driver. I didn't know what I did was such a big mistake.

Famous last words...
If u were in control u would have been in the speed limit
Nice kill either way.... I'm suprised your mum took it so well...
Personally ya should be taught to ignore these taunts by chicks in Charades, or else ya'll loose all ur demerit points before you even get ur P's....
If ya did the 95km with ur mum in the car...
I'd be
Shit scared to get on the road with u......
