There will be a number of different JDM ecus that were used to run the 4AGE. you got AE82, AE86, AA63, AE7x
I can't tell you which ones are, but with the epc i have i can tell you which ones aren't.
These aren't:
89661-12080 early AE82 Aus twincam16
89661-12250 late AE82 Aus twincam16
89661-17190 Early AW11 Aus
89661-17191 Late AW11 Aus

i do know one thing
a fwd 86 kw runs injectors in pairs
a rwd 86kw runs 4 injectors all at once
so if u do have the wrong ecu to match the wiring loom it will put twice as much fuel into the engine
took me ages to find out this one day

yes the jdm ecu's do make power but i am still trying to find out something
is there a difference between the zenki and kouki ecu out of jdm 86's?
JDM 83/85 ECU Pin Outs
JDM 86/87 ECU Pin Outs
pin outs look a little different so what that mean ecu is different?
cheers

All i know is that apparently JDM ecu allows rev cut at 8200 up to 60?km/h (only with speedo drive connected) else its 7800 same as aussie one.
I run a big port AE82 ECU and loom on my small port 4AGE (with small port injectors and plugs) no problem. I even ran 11psi into it with ZE injectors and MR2 turbo map sensor.
I dont run airtemp (its a resistor) I dont run cold start injector or ego or TPS, and I have tried both big port and small port dissys and made no difference (big differences inside them)

I have been searching everywhere and have found this with the use of translators
JDM Bigport 4AGE ECU part number is 89661-12050
& 89661-12051
both seem to be from 86's and 82's with bigport engine, but there are variations some say the 89661-12050 is kouki while others say zenki, and vice versa for the 89661-12051

from what i have seen it is a JDM Bigport ECU off an AW11, so one would assume its the 98kw version

most of the guys that i hang around call the JDM ecu ending with 50 (not 51) the five-o..the ducks nuts when it comes to stock ECU's.. we have done tests...the 50 limiter is higher than the 51, and the 50 has better mapping, the 51 has a slightly more economical tune to it..thats what i've heard..

Wouldnt a Toyota EPC tell us whats what. While i appreciate there could be many 4age ecu versions, shorely the EPC would give us some info.
I have one but i struggle to get it going.
Ill go and take a look at my RWD JDM ecu, and see what it says.
Cheers
Steve
