Well, these threads are common with other cars, so why not make one with the Soarer, eh? Hope no one minds. I'm just from this point on going to copy the AW11 thread's first post verbatim except for replacing MR2 stuff with Soarer stuff. Cheers. Lets see how many soarers are out there! Hey guys I thought I'd get the Soarer ball rolling. Soarer owners thread! A place for us to come and ramble on about our Soarers. You know they are the best car ever designed... So how bout it! Anything Soarer related is welcome. Perhaps we can start with a show of hands and what gear your running. Name: James Soarer: 1987 GZ20 Soarer GT Twin Turbo, in metallic Silver Mods: GReddy Full auto Turbo Timer That's it so far! Stock airbox replaced with Splitfire high flow pod filter (a decent difference, too!) Stereo: Kenwood KDC-126 head unit Some nice Pioneer 6x9"s in the rear, sound great! Odd, I didn't seem to have that problem. They do require real names though, so if that wasn't filled in properly (or at least look realistic) you wouldn't have got in.

george thats an awesome Idea but I think we should go one step further and organsie a massive Australian meetup like the AE86 guys did last year, I dont know if any of you guys are into drifting or not? but last year the hachi guys organised it the same weekend as the calder park drift nationals and then those that werent drifting entered the show and shine as a group, was quite awesome too see really. I think drifting seems pretty cool and I'd like to give it a shot sometime, but I'm not prepared to humiliate myself yet However I would attend and spectate and definitely would want to get an australia-wide meetup happening. aerocabin is the metal roof that folds back and then hides itself if i recall correctly also i have no idea what power i'm getting out of the 1G-GTE. I assume Ive got a gen-2 but I may unfortunately have a gen-1. I'm pretty sure I've got a gen-2 from what i was checking on the toymods 1g-gte description page. boost? stock i guess... i think stock is 7 or 8 psi... could be wrong there too though. cheers James [Report message to a moderator]

by the looks of your avatar and saying you have an 85 it looks like you have a gz10 (but i may be wrong) ive got a gz20 im pretty much the only person i know with one ive seen another round adelaide but apparently hes looking at doing a conversion

Yes a GZ10 but then again i mention that towards the top of the thread.

it will be soon and in about a years time be close to the quality of my current one
restoring it fully for my girlfriend
it may also be receiving a 1g gte

Not too many Gen1s going around. Most are gen2 and some Gen3 are gettin up now cause they are alot cheaper now to bring in. Aerocabin is a limited edition Soarer with a roof and rear screen that fold down into the rear boot. Its the last of the Soarers made. Look close in my avatar. Cheers [Report message to a moderator]

hey what's the best way to clean the plastic covers over the front of the headlights? I dont have extra stone chip protector covers, i just mean the front plastic on the lights. or you can try this stuff called honda plastic cleaner, it was issued with the S2000's that come with the plastic rear window and can be purchased from honda, its not too expensive either and works a treat [Report message to a moderator]

well that depends how bad the inside is, I didnt have to pull apart mine for them to come up brand spanking new, all I did was polish the outside with this stuff and voila clean as a whistle Smile

my mags have a center cap with a clear plastic cover. it went yellowish and i hit it with autosol. problem is is lasts only a couple of weeks, a month max and i gotta go at it again. [Report message to a moderator]

well on a serious note here, I threw up the idea of a nation wide soarer meet (possibly just oldschoolers maybe (20's and 10's) but if the 30's want to tag that might be ok as well) what do people actually think about the idea of an old school soarer meet somewhere in australia?

I would be happy to do some serious organisational work here and may be able to swing a magazine article on it in something like HPI or Speed.

sounds good to me Seems like there's soo many old school soarers in adelaide it's not funny! As long as there's enough notice I don't mind driving a fair distance to go somewhere... But having company for the long cruise would be cool too... Main thing here is plenty of forewarning of the date.
