I can't believe there is not more interest in this car. It is an absolute performance bargain.
And for those who don't think it looks sporty enough, that is the whole point. This car is a complete sleeper and stock standard will blow the doors of anything made in Austalia, including those with FPV and HSV badges. 0-100 in under 6 sec. 1/4 mile time of 13.6sec standard. I don't know of any car apart from this one that can do that for under $20G.
And if you think it looks too much like a camry and doesn't looks tough enough, with a bodykit and wheels, for only a few thousand dollars you can turn it from this:

to this (front bar still yet to be painted):

ps. nelpd96 pls edit your post so that images appear below each other and we don't have to scroll sideways. thanks

Edit done, I know exactly what you are saying about the car though bang for buck they are great. I am personally a bigger fan of the 100's though. Yours will look great with the bar painted up though. The thing for me is that to get it to look like yours which is very nice is going to add another $3000 for the kit and the wheels plus to get the performance up to the Std of the MX5 will be another $3000 so I am now comparing a $16,000 MX5 with a $23,000 chaser. For that sort of money I would get an R34

Shannons are the go. I got quotes from many insurers and compared to the ones that would ACTUALLY insure me, Shannons were still the cheapest.
Expect around $1000+ for comprehensive depending on age etc.

Mr 1jz,
My wife is was 21, when she bought the car, is now 22 ...
Comprehensive insurance thru Just car insurance was $1080 for the year.
Wasnt bad when I thought how much I paid for my 180sx when I bought it *shudder*
If any1's interested I will go out of my way to help the sale, and as I have mentioned, ALL SERIOUS OFFERS will be considered.
As mentioned above also, this car is the best sleeper I've ever seen, ppl mistake it for a camry, and have no idea its got a 250kw motor under the bonnet ... (its making approx 250 hp at the wheels now with exhaust and intake on it)
Expect somewhere around the mid 13's in current form.
Oh and u get to do it in comfort too with the Alpine Mp3 player cranking along
Any1 who wants further information, about the car, or about the hotels in Perth so they can stay here for a while call me on 0409883014.
Thanks

Nelpd96,
If ur worried so much about the price of the car, think about it like this .... (NOTE: ALL SERIOUS OFFERS CONSIDERED... if u think $17k is too much, make me an offer)
A mate of mine has one of these, and has done a PB of 12.4 he does 12.5-12.8 all day without any problems.
Differences between his car and my one are:
Front Mount Cooler kit ($1,300 from Trust)
Pod Filter ($200?)
Boost Controller ($500 from Japan)
E-Manage ($500 - Seen a few on here kits for that)
Blow off Valve ($3-400)
He runs R-Comps ($500 ?)
That doenst add up to alot of coin to me. Not in modified car terms, try doing up an S13, or Supra to get them to do 12.5's all day.
And he doesnt have a shift kit (been told this drops ur 1/4 mile time up to 0.5 seconds)
As for the body kits ... why the hell would u want to put a body kit on one of these? Get some springs and lower it, and roll up next to $100,000 HSV's and turbo Falcons and even R34 Gtr's and blow them out of the water .... Maybe even some 18's and they look awesome .... The front mount sticking out the bumper is enuff to arouse some suspicisions anyway
The look on a XR6 Turbo Falcon owners face as a Camry pulls away from them is priceless.
Its up to you, but I know of ppl that have owned mx-5's and they have seen this car, and would take this over an mx-5 in a second.
I cant make it any clearer here ppl, this car is going to be sold in the next two weeks, on commission to a yard here in Perth, so we will be getting a decent price for it. I would prefer to see a Toymods member take it so I can see it after its gone. if any1 is remotely interested in Perth, or over east i WILL go out of my way to help you take it.
Owner has purchased her new car and has no need for it now, It's been driven once a week at present.

Damn I rang Shannons for a quote (since I'm currently insured with them for my 1JZ) and they told me that it would be $1976.89 when my current insurance with them is about $1100 oh the pain
Since it's similar to mine (except it has 4 doors) I'm rather miffed as to why it's so much more expensive.
