Stock one over here
Just had a new JDM engine put in as the previous one destroyed itself,
Its lowered but needs a whiteline kit through it as our recent outing to Wakefield park confired, Theyre big heavy and love to understeer, We also ran out of brakes before lunch (boiled the fluid)
But still managed to keep up with cobra i was pared with in one run down the straight.

Group A #53 here, in Melbourne. Looks wise it's in fairly good condition, but due to the 220,000 kms on it, shit is starting to break, and leak. Got an oil leak and I think a coolant leak, but have all the stuff here to fix it, just cbf! Currently stock apart from 3" exhaust, GFB hybrid BOV, K&N pod, turbo timer and boost guage etc.

Hey guys,
i own a ST185 with a Grp A Bonnet, Bar and Charge Cooler.
Tis blue with the bonnet in black.
Mostly standard - exhaust which is 3"
Turbo seals are shitted, hoping to install a GT2871RS soon, just saving, and trying to locate a blank exhaust manifold plate (any help)
185k on the clock, and going up quickly but is my daily driver and i do around 600km a week...which sux, but i enjoy every moment of it!
I am located in Dubbo, and never had any real issues with my car yet, try to do all the work i can myself, i love mechanics! gunna install the turbo myself and make the manifold with some help from a relo, and hopefully the downpipe as well.

Hmm trying to remember yours was more a bronze/black wasnt it tooch ?
wasnt a straight gloss black i remmeber that much ..
and nods the 182 grey is rare as the black - most were red or white
lol mine will be the only 182 grey " group A ( insert replica mongrel hybrid or whatever you please )" in oz that i know of thats public on the forums - be nice to see a genuine though ..
I want it running again - pesky budget blowouts !

The 182 Grey is rarer than the black... only 6 locally delivered.
The figures I posted above are correct, I personally checked the GrpA VIN list against the EPC to get the info.

Just respray it in its factory colour before you sell it... doesn't really matter how rare a colour it is if you're not planning on selling.
Would have been a good reason to get a higher insured value if it was still factory grey though.

The ST165's were never delivered locally so all the ones that are here have been imported under the 15 year rule or as personal imports.
DOTARS would be the only ones who really know how many ST165's are here.

mines nearly back on the road - not long now - then i have to sit on it for a while and recoup some money ..
Still plan on buying a turbo if i can afford it at years end to complete the mechanicals - as it and the fuel setup are the last bits i need to upgrade to propel myself over 200 AWKW
frontmount is about 90 % complete - just tidying up the last bends this week - then its off to get most of the sections HPC coated
front brakes have been rebuilt + are ready to go on - we just need to look at machining those rotors seeing the other plan didnt work ( to get the full size 315mm's working
Rear brakes are here - i just need to rebuild the calipers + Powder coat them to match the fronts
ECU is in - Wolf knows i need to tune it in the next month so i should see a good pre turbo upgrade figure in the near future

I know your pain mate . F&cking worst place to have a sensor, mine bloody died THE DAY I PICKED UP MY CAR!!! Was not happy at all, especially cos I waited about 3 weeks before I could replace it, as I bought a dodgy second hand one for $10 which didnt work, then had to wait to get one from ATS racing in the US.

Thanks for the comments.
Dont know how much it has cost me as I have owned it now for a long time and it has gone through many phases.
I have done most things on the car except the metal fabrication because Im shit at welding. The engine mods/conversion, EMS, brakes and the rewiring I did myself.
I stopped taking it to pros when quick track adv me my car was driving around when it was dropped off at Bob Jane to have my spare tire replaced. Toyota once forgot to put coolent in the WTA intercooler and the power steering cap back on. Another time I found out that my brothers friend got to work on my car as he was doing work experience for Toyota. Why not.....good experience for a 15yr old to work on 1 of 150.
Anyway enuff of my bitchin. I will try to post some pics up.

ive had the samething anhar - apprentices working on the Gt4 - seems though that if the older more experienced guys dont/cant/wont do it - they lug it on the newbies.
My episoode resulted in a driveshaft seal being put on incorrectly draining the box of its precious fluids ..
Lucklyily for me this was while stationary in the garage - not while driving ..
i now have a vertvery good guy who does the stuff i cant do - even though he takes his sweet time .. least he knows what hes doing + does it right - his reputations on the line otherwise

if i get my computer done, im thinking that instead of later rebuilding the gen1 engine, geting a 205 engine put in since the wiring is gona redone anyways.
how much do st205 halfcuts go for?, cause i know they are rare as hell.
besides teh wiring, is there much else that gets done if i were to go ahead and swap in the 205 engine whist gettin the wiring done? spose pipes and stuff for cooling, and if i got a half cut id get the gearbox done too.
any comments?

The conversion is not difficult. Finding a good 205 motor will be the hardest part. Thats why alot just go for a rebuild.

well yeah the other option is to go for a 136 engine, and just -rebuild that up over a year or so till its ready for the swap and had everything replaced, then put that in with a new computer. labour etc will be alot cheaper on the engine since its out of the car, and i could get most of it done with a friend cause there would be no hurry on getting it ready.
really just have to pay for parts and machineing. ill have to look out for a 3sgte block in the forsale section!

Well i recently sold my white Grp A 185 to Joe on Toymods (approx 200kw @ wheels). I won't steal his thunder with the details as it's his baby now.
My red Grp A i like to think of as a GT8 or UZ185 It's in the memebers rides and the mod list is longer than rubber mans arm so best off heading there for details. Basically a twin turbo lexus V8 slotted in and the whole schbang converted to RWD for fun. Recently back on the road after the latest round of upgrades...dyno day coming up to see what she'll do now.
