Hey Hey....
for everyone out there not in the know...
there's a really cool anime all about drifting and hachi roku (86) called 'Initial D'...
It's been turned into a live action movie....whoot...
ToyotaCarClub.net are presenting the ONLY (YOU HEARD CORRECT - ONLY) showing in South Australia followed by a car cruise.
Details are as follows:
Car cruise route will be presented on the night.
There will be prize giveaways from sponsors and plenty of fun to be had on the night.

Beej and I (possibly more people) will be around the nissansilvia.com display
(They've generously let us use some of their space so we don't have to get our own stall) and will be roaming around the hall all day...
wearing pretty blatant tshirts advertising Initial D / TCC.net 
as for the car cruise afterwards - can't say how many cars could be five could be 400 (assuming every single person for the cinema comes in their own car)
Should be a great night out for everyone.

Are tickets normal price for a movie ticket i.e. between 10 to 15 bucks depending on whether or not your a poor arse students or pensioner or paying full price?

and no its NOT a good adaptation of the series, its fuckin dogshit
still gonna go see it at the movies for something to do, but its complete trash, dont get ur hopes up ppl because you will be disappointed

Why do you say that its no good Arch? What mistakes di they make making the film? I hope that people arnt expecting a Fast And The Furious type film, because this film is no where near that type of film making.
Actually if you want to see a good short film, look for a film called "The Last Race". This is a very good short film to look out for.

OK the first thing they did wrong, was trying to combine both stage 1 and 2, too rushed, not enough chance to go into detail..
the deletion of major characters..
the fact that they dont get into any of the emotion, during any of the races.
the portaying of bunta is all wrong
not gonna say anymore, i just thought it could have been 10x better thats all

well i only seen about 10 mins of the version i got but i do agree bunta was portrayed wrongly.
however i do think that the fact you can hear and see actually tire squeel on actual cars on the roads with tire smoke and all is fantastic.
plus how often in australia would you get a chance to see initial d on the big screen???

the Drift King does teh drifting for teh 86 (drift bible, tsuchiya, you know the guy with the green geddup) all the drivers were D1/rally drivers.
as an Initla D item, the MOVIE WAS SHIT
as a Drama, its quite good.
if you could read the original credits thres a bit that says the movie has no relation to the animation.
