GT28R has a 60 Trim Compressor Wheel and 62 Trim turbine wheel. Compressor A/R .6 Exhaust A/R .64. It's Apparently a "320HP" turbo

GT28RS has a 62 Trim Compressor Wheel and 76 Trim turbine wheel. Compressor A/R .6 Exhaust A/R .64 or .86. It's Apparently a "350HP" turbo

What would you recommend for a 3SGTE in a sw20 mr2 (fitment space wise), aiming to put bout 200-250 rwkw (performance) without too much of a lag.
Internal or external wastegate ok.

got a 1jz mz soarer that was an ex drag car so has been setup for that more than ideal for street use. It has a TD07 on it at the moment but am toying with the idea of donwsizing to something that will still get the big hp but more imortantly for me have less lag and boost up quicker, any suggestions? For example what about a GT35/40?

Why would you ask that? They are advertised as Garrett GT series turbos, with the same model designations, and comparable prices to most current genuine garrett suppliers.

You'll find the copies on ebay in the "under $600 cheap shit turbos" section Very Happy

these are actual GARRETT TURBOS, not the copied CHINESE crap that sum are selling.

We are recognised on the GARRETT network and all turbos come with a 12 Month Manufacturers Warranty

Re: Garrett GT Turbochargers Thu, 01 September 2005 05:08 Go to previous messageGo to next message
For the MR2

I would recommend something in the GT28 range - for the power you after, you have a few options

GT2540R would be the biggest in this range
0.64 - 400HP
0.86 - 440HP

They have a 0.7 front compressor cover with a T25/28 based exhaust housing.

$1695 DELIVERED at the moment

You would need also the external items to help reach the power
- INJECTORS
- FUEL PUMP
etc

The GT2540R is a internal gated turbo aswell

got to our WEBSITE www.racespec.com.au and look under intake, we have the complete GARRETT turbo list on there with PICS and specs.

For the 1JZ, soarer I would not go past the GT30R or GT35R, either a 0.82 or 1.06 rear exhaust housing. These are externally gated units and are $1795 DELIVERED at the momment.
However, the GT35R with 1.06 is available with INTERNAL GATE for an extra $150.

At the moment, we dont do standard bearing turbos, are you after anything in particular?

Thanks

Im new to the turbo ways as im a bit of v8 buff.
Im putting a 2jz into a hiace and dont know how to match turbo(s).
I want some decent mumbo so what do you recomend. I want something bigger than a 35/40, I want it in the 40's but not too big as its a streeter with balls.
Or is there a site I can go to and look at sizing engines to turbos
thanks mate

so can you tell me what sort of differences i will be noticing in the driving of my car from the way it performs with the TD07 as oppossed to the GT3540R? Is that a good choice for turbo by the way to change to deal with my aim of boosting quicker. I'm getting 245rkw at 15psi at the moment with the TD07, the power is good, just wanna feel it sooner. Could you also explain to me what the different stats or figures of the turbo's mean to give me a better understanding of how they compare, ie u said

"For the 1JZ, soarer I would not go past the GT30R or GT35R, either a 0.82 or 1.06 rear exhaust housing.

I was also thinking i can use the external wastegate i already have on the TD07, correct?

Thanks

You will still need to use your extenal gate setup

but depending on the use of the car will depict the size of the exhaust housing used.

for quicker response, I would use the 0.82, we have seen fullboost on RB25 by 4500rpm

the bigger 1.06 exhaust housings are more suited to the RB30, 13B and 20B

More turbos in stock

Thanks

the reason i asked if they were genuine is that the original title had garrett spelt incorrectly and most of the copies have garrett spelt incorrectly on the compressor housing. thanks for clarifying it Tarek.

I think he means is the factory wastegate set at under 8psi, or will it have to be changed, i.e. does it open at 10psi standard.

Tarek,
For a 1jz would you be able to run a .64 exh housing so it would boost up real quick? Then to offset efficiency loss at the top of the rev range just use a turbo with larger wheels like a TO4Z instead of a GT35.

On a TO4Z wiht this small .64 AR exhaust housing would it still run out of puff on a 1jz or would it pull cleanly to 7500rpm?

RAWS

I'll give you an example, we have an Rb25 R33 here in Adelaide, running a GT35R with 0.82 rear full boost by 4500rpm and keeps pulling through the rev range

The smaller you go obviously the more top end rpm starts to be compromised, although you may go for a bigger comp wheel (t04Z versus GT35) that will only affect flow and response

LILCRASH

The GT25 is actually more expensive, and GARRETT AUS doesnt stock many of them

Thanks

Just an enquiry, I currently have a HKS ta45s on my 1jz. It has a .72 compressor 66mm inducer, .92 turbine, 3" outlet to cooler, 4" outlet to dump pipe, non-water cooled, split pulse exhaust housing.
It is rated at 650hp.

Would there be anything in your line up that would bolt straight up to what I currently have? Was thinking GT42R or T04z but t04z I think is water cooled also. Is the GT42r water cooled?

Thanks
