Just wanted to give you aussie's a taste of how we do it over here in the States. Hope you all like the car. It's been a work in progress for the past 5 months.
Here is picture of the car when I took delivery of her.
May 19, 2005
June 20, 2005. Not much done, just got the car running and some basic body work.
July 30th or so. More body work, TRD spoiler, wheel change and flat black front clip.
Early August. Fully flat black and 71-72 taillightes.
End of August. Wheels painted final color. Body work mostly complete and waiting for the money to paint.
September 14 2005. Painted but not complete yet
October 1 2005, Completed!! Scat Rally seats, 18RGEU with a gear drive. Trd header, 44mm mikuni carbs and some other nick nacs. Hope you all like her as much as I do.

The engine is an 11-1 compression 18rg. It's got 304/288 cams, 44mm Mikuni Carbs, TRD High rise header, and a Gear Drive. Other then that it's stock.

The front spoiler is a TRD copy and replaces the whole front valance. I'm trying to get another one for my 72 RA21, but they are getting difficult to come by.
The center console is a factory piece. Nothing special there, at least over here in the states.
The seats as stated are SCAT Rally's. You can find them on the web, and maybe someone imports them down under. Very comfortable seats and damn near bolted right in. Very little modification needed.
The front tires are 13x7 and the rear are 13x8. I believe the rims are called Tomohawks. At least that is what someone has told me. I'm not really sure. They are painted orange though. Everyone thinks it's red. Guess it pictures that way.
Thanks again for all the compliments fellas. I've been a lurker on this site for a while now and finally decided to make a post of my car. Glad to see some of you like it. If you all ever need anything from the states let me know. I will do my best to find the parts you are looking for.

yeah it looked good like that, but I needed more. It was more work keeping that primer clean and looking good then just to put paint on it.

it removes the lower timing chain from the motor and makes it a gear driven piece. Same thing you'd typically find in small block V-8's. Very rare for an 18RG I'm told.

I've never even heard of another car having one. If I find one I'm fairly certain it's owner would be like me and not want to part with it.

There was celica in the US for sale recently that had a gear drive 18RG.
Here's a different one:
I found this in an archive from www.toyota-mods.com in May 1995.
link:
http://www.toyota-mods.org/posts/posts-9505.html
18RG Cam gear drive kit (gear drive kits are made when an order of 100 is met and the produced, payment is in advance and the wait period for myself was 3 years, two years to late).
If we can find another 99 people, I'm in for this group buy

98? Make that 97 if Mr DOHC would also want one!! Nice seats! That's a pretty funky ride. They seem to do it differently to us in the states. More spoilers, flares an ducktails over there, whereas aussie cars seem to go for the clean lines.

I think the reason that they go for ducktails and spoilers over in the US is that they are much more available over there.
I've found two manufacturers of ducktail spoilers in Australia, but none of them are quite as good as the TRD style ones.

No no these are very rare over here in the States. And if you do find one your looking at $250-$300 USD for a molded one.
