1989 GLX - White with Blue Interior
Now with Vic Rego to December 2006
260,000 Kms - Although this appears high - the Head Gasket was done before I purchased it about 3.5 years ago and the Tranny was also rebuilt.
I have spent thousands on this car - my intention was to pass this on to my youngest son who is a learner at the moment. He wants a manual not an automatic.
What I have had done:
New Cam Belt [genuine toyota].
High Performance KYB Shocks Lowered with King Springs [proper spring rate for IRS system] Road Worthy and Insurance legal height. Firm but fantastic handling.
I change oil every 5,000 and filter every 10,000.
New Battery, New Front Rotors and Brake pads.
Runs perfectly on Standard Unleaded [no pinging] - I usually get 600 kms out of tank [freeway to City].
Drives great - it's a shame to sell it. Starts first time every time. Ideal first car.
Price:
$4,500 with Vic Rego to December 2006 and Vic RWC [Roadworthy Certificate]. Will also include Oil and Oil Filter service to new owner. In other words - nothing to spend.
If you want to get your own RWC - I'm negotiable.

Possible Swap for good manual car of approx equal value.
Prefer VIC so my son can see and drive but interested in others.

Hi thanks for your interest.
In a perfect world he would like a GTR Twin Turbo. In reality, both financially and practically something less. It appears that the P Plater laws in NSW are to be introduced in VIC [much talk that it will be 1st July 2006] in which case no V8, turbo etc.
I personally don't believe that this law is workable and fair. As a P Plater in NSW you could buy a hot V6 VN that handles like shit but not a Corolla with a supercharger which not only handles better, stops better and yes the big one [much lower on petrol use]. Accidents do happen but Driver Education should be where it starts - no over restrictive laws.
As to what car - AE86 or later Corolla with 4AG 100 Kw engine.
