These picture were taken by a mate with a Digital still camera.

He also did some digital video, hopefully I will be able to post some of that soon.

awesome pics Jason, many thanks for that.

I particularly like that you captured my spin is such detail Smile Those with an eye for detail will note that there wouldn't be any flat spotted tyres as the tacho was reading about 5000rpm in 3rd gear throughout that 360.

Can't wait to se the vid footage

Well just to rub salt into the wound, on top of the fuel pump problems I was having on the track, my coil lead turned it's toes up on the way home. Fortunately we found someone with a spare one off a falcon and we managed to get it home, not that I'm gonna let that stay on for long, there is icky ford germs on it.

Besides all that, I had a great time and definitly have a list of things to do beore the next outing.

1. Coil Lead
2. Fuel Pump
3. Stiffer anti-roll bars
4. Fix the loose nut behind the wheel - this might be a little difficult though.
5. An LSD would help with the bits of the track that aren't straight. My current open centre is now squeeling like a Banshee.

Thanks fellas for the great day out.

Although I think I may have to reconsider any further involvement with the Canberra Celica Club, everytime I turn up to one of your events I end up with frost bite and something broken on the car. Are you guys trying to tell me something???

Joel, I got a set of Lucas pads that are rated to 650 degrees. They were only $70 a set and worked very well on the track, they are dusty little buggers though!

BIG THANKS TO THE CCG CAPTAINS MITCH AND PHIL FOR ORGANISING A GREAT DAY FOR ALL!

A few people were taking times (and holding up that funky time display board, good work guys!!). Perhaps they could enlighten us on what people were doing??

My times were in the range of high 1:15's to low 1:16's (give or take for handtiming accuracy Very Happy )

I am keen as anything to go back after a few tweaks and some new front tyres. I still can't get over how much fun it was!

Shane, i'm so sorry for forcing you off the track, it was not my intentions at all and as a result of the spin i stuffed all 4 tyres, flat spotted down to the belts, but i was a having a ball until then,

I think i managed 1.17 somewhere, might have gotten faster if i could have stayed. but with no tyres and having to drive home i took off,

Think next time i'll bring up some spear wheels, oh, and the sprinter!

No worries, no harm was done and we both drove away from it ok (well after I was towed out hehe). My car probably needed a sandblasting on the underside anyhow Laughing

I am just glad I caught your spin in the mirror and was able to go straight instead of turning and having us both collide. Got the whole thing on video too!!

Most valuable glance in the mirror I have ever made I reckon!

Pity about your tyres though.

We really appreciate the support as it can take a lot of organising but WAS IT A FANTASTIC DAY OR WHAT!!!! Thanks should also go to Shane for helping out as well. Talk about pushing the cars to the limit. How many of us scrubbed the left front tyre down to nothing!

Some of our die-hard friends/supporter/spectators took some fantastic pics and even found time to take down a few lap times. They wernt able to get times for all but I hope to get the ones they did get up here soon.

Will have to do some more negotiating with the very helpful Wakefield management for another similar day. I for one was VERY pleased to see such a very quite track for Tweety. I screetched the tyres all around the track all day and still was the slowest on the day with a 1.35! I think Shane in the 'Green Hornet' Corolla clocked the fastest with a 1:16!

Thanks to all for supporting such an expensive event for the CCG. Gives us a better idea of whay you guys might be up for in the future.
Cheers Mitch

Phil (E), Justin.....perhaps you have both heard of the Barter system??

In the old days people would trade a pig for a bag of corn, or their sister for a new wheel for their high-performance wheel barrow, or perform "favours" for product etc etc.

Perhaps Justin could offer a "good" or "service" in return for some fresh rubber for his ride??

Now that I have enlightened you two boys on the subject you can work it out amongst yourselves hehehe Laughing

There are three ways to make more money too:
Prostitution
Pimping or
Porn star

Take your pick! Laughing

Hey all

Looks like you guys had a shit-kicking time... Wish I could have made it... Sad

I've put some of Jason's photos up on the CCG site (Sorry, Jason, hope you don't mind) until I get the CD from Mitch...

Once I get that there'll be more pics and videos and gear...

Until then:
