That's a stock 1.8L 4, 1988 SV20 I believe.
I haven't taken the Land Cruiser, the turbo Camry or my MA61 down the track... give me some time.

My ful sic corona bro does like 1/4 in 10 seconds.
Not quite, i estimate 0-100 to be low 9's and 1/4 mile high 16's to low seventeens. These aree figures close to a Barina SRI my car has much better power to weight and have raced one and beaten him but obviously that guy isn't as quick as journo that launch cars a lot.

I'm not going to do a run until i'm happy with how the car is running The fact that it's only running 7psi tells me that the turbos are 1st gen But the rest is 2nd/3rd gen gear. Damn freak engine.

I should mention that this is with slight boost up (0.9 bar) and with Cusco LSD (much better launch than open wheeler) and labouring the motor againsts the torque convertor til the slightest hint of wheelspin and then taking off.
Otherwise stock motor, exhaust, airbox etc.

F@rk,this needs to be explained in much more detail mate. You are telling us your mate has a ae82 seca with a 4agze (non turbo) that runs 12.3 second quarter mile.
Not calling you a liar as i really wanna believe it as i run a 4agze car but would love more details please as this sounds just a couple of seconds too fast to believe.

|
I was aware that the Kwinana was built on the maximum decline (it has helped that track set some speed records).
The NHRA or IHRA have a formula for the maximum amount of decline/incline that a track may have (it affects overall time very little) I don't belive that WSID is on a 12' decline (only the first part of the track is down hill) and a 12' decline would approximate out to be about 4 tiers of the terraced grass section (Unlikely).
I tried everwhere on the website to find out the incline/decline of WSID without luck, all that is left to do is to ask JR or someone else who knows the track intimately. If I am incorrect I will post my apology on this thread.
For the record - my car ran 0.06sec faster on the new track and 0.5MPH slower (go the physics experts to work that out) and yes I kept my foot buried through the speed trap (my knowledge of how drag racing works is pretty up to speed).
Performance to date = 1/4mi 11.82 @ 114.5mph (best 115)
1/8mi 7.50 @ 95mph

I was just looking at some photos taken at WSID and I must say that the 2nd half of the track is downhill.
See this photo and judge for yourself
http://www.drags.com.au/images_streets/04/sept1/08 6.jpg
I estimate about 3 to 4ft decline (as judged by the concrete barrier) the finish line and speed trap can be seen clearly in this photo, after which it heads uphill in the braking area.

Ran a 15.64 across the 1/4mile
Had really average tyres on reckon i could get maybe anothe .1 off it with better tyres going by the 60ft times which were average!
i've since sold the car, next AE86 will have far more balls that a normal 4AGE, i like the 1G-GTE idea!!

I have a toyota wagon with a holden VN V6 in it 4 speed auto and the best it has done is 15.2 at 96mph with a GTech. I took it to the track and got only .1 of a second diffrent to the GTech but MPH was a bit diffrent. So the GTech times are very close but MPH is about 2 to 4 MPH diffrent. Yes I ran the GTech at the track on the same day .1 faster and .1 slower. The car has a 147 kw chip in it and it weight is 1107 kg you can work your times out with a power to weight ratio. But on the other subject about holding 3rd and not getting into 4 it can come back to your launch. It is a better track and a lot of people are doing better times with a lower MPH there but we live in the sticks so I don't get to the real tracks that often. But you will see it on speed week some do a faster MPH but a slower time than the bloke they race. Anyway we arn't racing 4 rego papers so enjoy the racing where ever you are

people dont realise, g-techs are inaccurate, all they are good for is basic tuning, like lets try a bit more timing, and u'd have to go to the exact same piece of road and run again to make sure its the same,
if the g-tech said 15.75, u'd say your car is capable of high 15's, never quote them.

13.6 @ 103mph at AIR
it was my first time down the strip and I got a 13.7 with a 1.2 second reaction time so with a bit of practice and some better rubber I should be able to crack the 12's
