looking good osix, very promising. RA23 and TA23 stuff is different (from TA22) from the dashboard to the front of the car pretty much, everything back from there is the same though. the grill and the front bumper won't fit but you might be able to shorten the front bumper to suit.
i was expecting something like this. labour is a hell of a lot cheaper in Malaysia, plus they're willing to try a lot of stuff over there just because they haven't got things readily available. Saw some very cool cars when i was over there for work earlier this year (tubbed SR20DET MK2 escort and stuff like that), seen a lot of engine conversions and things that you wouldn't expect come from those directions.
cheers

Hey mate not all the pics have worked for me but from what I see you are truly dedicated to making this Celica whole again and that deserves alot of credit.
If you need parts just let me know, chances are I have them lying around and ready to throw out so you can have them if you want to cover shipping.
I have the following that you can have for free!
rear good condition black back seat
front guards with a little rust,
bonet-little rust
front lights
blinkers
light surrounds
hinges
door trims
chrome trim
rubbers
windows
winders
window mechanisms
handles
front valance
Let me know mate!
I reckon we should show osix a bit of Aussie/toymods spirit and have a look at what we have lying around the place, gather it all together and help a fellow enthusiast get his dream up and running!

Now is a good time to replace the timing belt, and front and rear oil seals.
Easy to do the clutch whilst it is out.

Any idea what kinda timing belt i am using . is there a parts code
- the gear box seem to be leaking . and can see the oily parts .
should i worry that it might lead to more serious problem ?
or just some simple check and replacment

Firstly, well done so far. Very impressive stuff!
Is the gearbox leaking, or is it just old oil coming out around the tailshaft spline? There shouldn't be any oil in it now it's out of the car!
You could replace the rear seal on it, although I don't know if the t50 will hold up behind the 1G-FE for too long. They aren't a very strong gearbox.
I'm not sure if anyone answered you about the door handles, but as far as I remember they're the same item for left or right doors. TA23 doors parts will also be interchangeable with your ta22.

Hey mate,
The handles are different there is a right and a left side,
48 max is sending me some window winders for 6 bucks from Malaysia which i think will be roughly the same weight,so if you want a set of handles just let me know your shipping address and ill post them over.

Thats cool man dont worry about the swap i proposed on PM,at that time I didnt think you would get the car as far as you have.
As for the door handles i was using 48max as an example of how little the cost is to send to the lower half of asia.
I am happy to send them to him for you to pick up(if thats alright with you 48)? or I can send them to you in Singapore?
As i said I dont think it will be much in shipping but there is no rush either as im not going to sell them they are just here if you need them now or down the track

for the time i got to use the 1G-Fe engine - my $ is limited
so i got to make do with what i got - plus would love to try out the car with the 1G-fe engine - before i do any upgrade -
i was suggest to a few engine - eg. 4A-GE and 1JZ - as well as SR20
but i am holding on - as this would cost another big hole in my pocket whahha
The worker is still working on the LEFT driver floor panel today -
it been raining 3 days and cos the car is park just under a wooden shed it starting to rust again ---
Thanks for all the supoort and i will keep up the work and update everyone with the progress .
the door handle fit - but need to modify some small part insider the trigger .

This is still the primany Stage of problem and resource sloving .
the metal and the panel is not hard to find . and is still within reach - stage 2 after the floor panel is done is the hard part .
which will be bumper , window body .
i more or less give up the idea of having a Sunroof installed .
There is still alot of question about my car as well as the engine and Gearbox .
but well i assume i got to slove one by one as the info is also limited .
Mr yaen is a very good , in fact very good skill craftman .
will be trying my best to source for parts ..
so far i had found about 80-90% of the surface part - will be going to malaysia to buy the parking lens .
hope all this gowell ..and thanks fo rthe supoort from everyone

If you've got some spare time, detail that engine while it's out!
Clean it up, degrease it up, spray it.
Also, stuff like the intake manifold can be attacked with metal polish to bring up a nice good shine
Best of luck with your project. I, like others, thought you would just throw in the towel for sure when given the scope of the job ahead of you!
