If neither was modded, they had many K's on the odometer and had able drivers......... ..........which would win in a battle on the twisties of Old Pac Which would win 0-100km/h Oh and if highly modded which would be better? I am in the market and can't decide [Report message to a moderator]

bahahahahaha you are trying to tempt me, seriously cannonball on here was driving pretty hard on an old pac cruise behind me with a 96kw 4age but new suspension that was rooted and i left him behind, only mods to my car springs shocks and 15inch trx mags. depends.... are the drivers familiar with "super late braking technique"? if not then i'd back the sprinter just because they were originally designed as a 'sports' car.. rona was designed as a large shopping trolley which also doubled for transporting pensioners to the bowls midweek. in regards to 0-100, can you double clutch? because we all remember what we learnt from the fast and the furious..... i don't give a rats arse as to which one has more power Mr RT142 [Updated on: Wed, 03 August 2005 11:20] [Report message to a moderator]

ae86 designed as a sports car bahahaahaha same chassis as a ke70 they are just a smaller shopping trolley. Oh and the front suspension of the corona is the same as the RA65 celica which is similar to the Ma61 supra. Tada. Having never driven or been in a ae86 i can say that when i got my car the suspension was well and truly rooted original shocks should not be left in a car for 400k kms no rebound woot. My sister had a stock Ke70 that i have driven a couple of times i'd say stock versus when my rona had stock suspension my car offered greater confidence to continue to push. The ke70 had only done 205000km. Weight wise you are looking at 1080kg for the corona versus 970kg for the Ke70 (which i assume is pretty much the same as the AE86. Yet a 4ac has around 53-57kw versus 87kw for the corona, torque no idea for tha 4ac but lets say 130-140nm thats being generous, versus 198Nm of torque for the corona. RT142 is puss... haha anyone who thinks the rt142 has sporting potential is in the same wacko catagory as those who buy VN commodores for the same reason.....ie bogans!!! yeah it has a little torque but thats it......so if u want to be a bogan skip the rt142 and get the VN... I would not spend over $500 on a corona... any desent sprinter is 5 times that....sprinter has class, hard to define, but only if modified - 4ac is junk, minimum required is 4agze (then u will love it!!) OK This event that Corona is getting a LOT of mileage out of did happen, but this was the first (ie onle ever driven round the block to make sure nothing fell off ) drive with :- completely new suspension with no real setup (shocks actually way too hard), newly reco'd 2 way in new JDM disk brake diff, gutted biasing valve so i had a heap of rear brakes and bugger all front brakes 12 year old tyres (i just checked the production date tonight ) New adjustable anti roll bar on the rear, but pissy original item still on the front. Oh, and an "eyeball" wheel alignment, that kept pulling to the right. All this on unfamiliar wet roads. I do seem to remember though, that once i got onto the old Pac, a road i know much better, that there was a certain corona remained a good way back in my mirrors despite plenty of overtaking opportunities:roll:. my old stock 4ac sprinter would always flog my mates old corona straight line, twisties and all, i drove it a few times and it was the biggest peice of shit ever. i cannot see how it could dream of keeping up with a 4age modded spoonter. nothing beats first hand experience. well while it wasnt planned, i had been carefull all day, but on the uphil section of the pac i felt a little more confident to get on the power a little earler out of the corners, and it got a little loose on me, but not seriously out of shape. i'll agree with that when mine was stock is was pretty dodgy, ie in the wet it'd step out willy nilly going straight thru round abouts at even 25kph.
I reckon you could scrape the sills on the road thru hard cornering, but since doing a few minor changes it handles shitloads better and holds a lot more speed thru corners.

yeah i cut springs that had done 400k kms and it made it fully sick, yet somehow still managed to retain a ride height of a 4wd Rolling Eyes

Dobinson HD standard ride height springs (was gonna get 2inch lowered but didn't)
Monroe GT gas front strut inserts and KYB rear shocks that are actually for an MX83 cressida (i think)
