Hi there, I just recently bought an import car and was wondering if anyone knew of any good import or car workshops that do alot of import vehicle work in the Brisbane area? Ones that deal with installing stuff or getting mechanicals fixed. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought a 95' TT Supra. I'm getting a turbo timer installed on Friday. But I'm looking at maybe getting some engine work as well as installing a new exhaust and possibly a new ECU. I'm looking for someone reliable or will do a good job and know about these sorts of things but wont cost the earth to get something done. It'll be a while since I'm saving up to get everything done at once rather than getting little bit done by little bit. Any recommendations would be of great help. Thanks!

i am from the sunshine coast and i don't know about barnes high performance. He is much more of a v8 man. If you want more info. pm me because i am not allowed to say it here.
otherwise, I go to a place called ROTORMAX but he specialises in anything turbo. Since you are in Brisbane i would check out ARES SPEED, or go down the coast to rigolis.

ARES SPEED? I thought they mainly did body work? Has anyone had work done by ARESSPEED? I asked an import shop near me and they said they got someone called SUBZERO to do all there work but I hear subzero do mainly Nissan cars?

Yeah, i thought ARESPEED was just for ricer bodykits etc ...
I also thought they had closed down, weren't they on Beaudesert road or somewhere abouts there?

hte're still open esteban, i have a friend who works there...
they mainly do bodykits and pod filters, the amount of SOHC 1.5L lancers that get exhuast tips fitted there is amazing
they're not really a performance workshop, more a 'automotive aerostyling salon'

Yeah guys I know what you mean. It does seem like rice is taking over Brisbane. It seems the rice weapon of choice is now the Lancer rather than the good ol' civic. Amounts of Lancers I see with Ralliart and Evo body kits and stickers...

theres bound to be tonnes in the white/yellow pages, just look and ring them up and ask whether they service your type of car...
sure, theres no guarantee of quality of the work, but they wouldnt be in business is it was that bad, just make sure they provide a warrantee on the labour and any parts they might break while installing them...

Whats Supa-poos?
I know what you mean toycelica77. Thats why I say to myself if I see someone driving a Supra and I get the chance, I might ask them what they had done to their cars and who does the work?
Someones mentioned to me a place called Chapmans & Chapmans Performance Excellence in Woollongabba. He gets his Supra looked at there.
