Well my gearbox finally spat the dummy this morning whilst driving under some heavy load on the way to work.
will be sending It to MV automatics for full rebuild strengthen, shift kit and stall converter. once i have the box back in the car and i have gone to the creek, i will post my faults and criticisms.
martin donnan recently did a review on this mob, though, he hasn't written the article as yet, so, when i know the results i will let you all know as i am sure with the amount of 1J cressida's popping up like hot cakes there are sure to be a number of you getting the same feeling i did this morning.
ahhh who needs reverse anyway.....

the cortina was an auto
yep driving onto freeway
running some scmidddy in a turbo zooki gti
blew past him then at about 140ks it started bouncing of the rev limiter no third no fourth no reverse
whipped a quick u turn
you know the one
and headed off to my mates workshop where he kindly lent me his camry wagon for the day.
box left for rebuild wednsday
hopefully have it back so i can run a 12 somehting at the ANDRA sanctioned eastern creek late this month
have to get my car back ahead of ben ellis's crapper in the HPI street drag challenger
he just fitted a 3037 from cgc but he still cant drive, so that is my goal

1JZ.747,
I'm the bloke who spoke to you at the show 'n shine at Dubbo Toyota...with the 1UZ-powered MX83.
Yours is a nice car BTW; almost as nice as mine!
Seriously, though, who is re-building your box, and what is it going to cost you?
Are you "modding it" at all? Oh, and were you/are you running a trans. cooler? (I forgot to look at Dubbo - too busy photographing your "cold-air" setup!)
