This tape headunit it about 5-6 years old from memory. It controls the matching Sony 10 stacker model CDX-65. If anyone has this headunit and its in perfect working conditon send me an email. Maybe you were thing about a CD upgrade? The 700 had an internal amp and the 800 didn't. I dont mind if you have lost the remote control. This is a long shot but you never know till you ask around. I'm after a good condition example and I'm prepared to pay the going second-hand tape player price.
Yer I seen your post but I think you have a different headunit for sale, going by the picture. I'm after the Sony XRU-700. I have this head unit in my daily driver. I was after another one to put back in my Celica. If I can't find one I'll just have to put the XRU-700 back in the Celica and find something new for the Datto, which will cost me more money.
I have an XRU-800 in my tow car and had the XRC-700 in the Celica both had stacker unit, but I found the XRC-700 better to display cd info eg tittle, track name etc. up to you both have tape unit built in.
