Good to see guys! Just a question (or few) about height adjustable suspension though - does it help the handling of the car, or is it for looks? Does it put out the alignment every time you raise the ride height? It certainly would be good to be able to go over speed bumps without scraping the exhaust.

Queensland transport:
Quote: | The road clearance of a motor car must not be less than 100mm measured at any part of the vehicle other than the wheel rim or brake backing plates. (This does not apply where a lesser clearance has been specified by the manufacturer.) When lowering or raising a vehicle body (front or rear): • the suspension travel in the bump or rebound mode must not be altered by more than one-third of that specified by the manufacturer; • coil springs are to remain in locating seats on full suspension droop without forcibly being removed. In addition, the normal relationship between the front and rear suspension heights must not be unduly affected. Suspension coil springs must not be shortened by cutting. Leaf spring suspensions must not be raised by the use of extended shackles or adjustable metal plates. If lowering blocks are used, they must be either steel or aluminium.

jza70-mel - i have only driven mine for a couple of hours, but i would say that the handling isnt as tight as it used to be (torsion bars wound down and reset, riding on the bump stops in the front; 3" blocks, reset leaves, c-notch in the back)because it isnt as stiff anymore. Altho you can make the ride stiffer with bags just by putting more air into them. Now it rides smooth like a limo, instead of bouncing around and jarring your back over any bump (i have a female friend that used to complain about having to wear a sports bra) -Matt

It all depends on how many bags of cement i can fit in the boot and back seat or how many rocks i can find or even bricks. It also depends on how siiik i want to be, but i always know i am fully siiik wheni get good bounce happening when i go over bumps.

Sure low looks good....but for a car you drive everywhere its not practical.....mine sits around 1 1/2" and thats so my exhaust doesnt make love to the ground anymore....it will depend on your driving style and where she is taken....but i surely couldn't enjoy driving a car dumped 3" from factory just to look good....you would have to worry about every bump on the road. show cars that don't get driven dont have to worry about it this...

reviving dead threads is ok if you have something significant to add but don't make a habit of doing it to say hello to someone as the forums are clutterred enough as it is

not sure how far off the deck mine is but i think it would be less than 3 inches at the lowest point. its a fucking bitch to drive, every little bump in the road sends a huge jolt through the car and it gives me a sore back after a while.

If any one is still around that started this thread what are air bags worth.
Also I droped my car 6" at the front and between 4 and 5" in the rear. If anyone can tell my they dropped anything bar a 4wd lower I would be mighty surprised. My car still is legal the lowest point is still well above the 100mm and it has been dropped that far.
