What kind of 1/4 mile times are you running
and what kind of mods have you done to your
cars?

I have a RA20 (1971) and a RA21 (72)
they both have 18RGs in them
but I have only ran one of them down the 1/4.
my 72 has ran a 15.5s with No traction ( 60ft 2.4s).
I know it can do better then that.

Mods done to the car.
18RG
ported head and intake manifold
stock 40mm carbs
304/288 cams
TRD hearder/extactor
forged 10.5 pistons
2.5 inch exh.
5 speed trans
4.3 rear end
16s rims that are 7 wide tire is
8.5 wide.

my (71) is a turboRG
I have a custom EFI manifold and a stock EFI
manifold.
20R forged pistons
stock cams
ct26 turbo
custom 3 inch exh.
Ford 2.3 Turbo ECU
4 speed trans
Ford 9inch rearend 4.56 gears
that should run 12's

What about you?

1974 TA22 with 1984 4AGE TVIS MAP conversion... 2in exhaust from stock ex manifold and k&n pod filter, remapped stock computer. Sprinter T50 box, stock TA22 rear end with T292 centre. done 16.5 measured with Race Technology AP22 (think G-tech, but about 100000000 time better)

TurboRG,

Tina's TA22 is a 1973 model with a Mild 2TG. For the complete specs follow this link:

http://www.toymods.org.au/tina_try.html

Best Run down the Qtr so far is a 16.052sec Pass at 85.45 MPH.

Still needs a lot of tweeking but should see the 15 Sec bracket if all goes to plan.

15.5 from the 72 is a Nice time given the Extra weight of the 18RG. They are quite a bit heavier than there 1600cc equivalent.

Regards,

At a test and tune at willowbank last summer, my RA28 celica with 0.5mm of tread on rear tyres(seriously, i'm saving for turbo- but now i know u need tread) with 25kg sub-box combo and amp-ie: full street trim, pulled:

1st run: No result recorded- they stuffed up.
2nd run:16.83 @ 89mph
3rd run:16.95 @ 81mph

The 1st run was embarassing: i got told to put my window up on the line- I was very nervous being my 1st time and i forgot, then when i was winding it up the light went- me bad!, and then I fluffed second gear. The only good thing was i still wipped the escort in the micky thompson lane.

The 2nd run was my best on the night, although I had traction loss until 5-6000prm in second and a chirpy in 3rd (with soft launch) and not flat changing.

The 3rd run was all-out. I wanted to go faster so i launched hard, flat changed and subsequently lost traction till end of third whilst backing off the throttle, hence the time.

The moral of the story: I U WANT TO GO FAST HAVE ENOUGH POWER, AND ENOUGH TREAD. AND/OR GET SLICKS!!!

I honestly believe i should get into the mid/high 15's. Next time i'll have new soft tyres.

PS: how much do stock RA28 celica meant to weigh?
