My Tacho is Mental !!!

Hey can anyone explain this, my TA22 Tacho goes mental when it hits 3500rpm, basicly it goes back and forth real fast  , is my tacho rooted?

i'm having a similar problem with the aftermarket tacho in my corona, i got the tacho when i had my 18RC flickered bad, got the 18RGU and when i accelerated it would jump bad when accelerating hard {hit 8000rpm and i could still gain 20kph} it has settled down a bit but was bad at drags tonite, i have already had it replaced once

Yup, it's rooted  I had a TA22 paddock car with the same issue...

it took 3 coils to get my tacho to work right

i had a feeling it was the coil so i changed it with the one from my parts car , but it still does it, i guess i'm just gonna have to change it,its not all bad now i can upgrade my speedo to km/h at the same time i do it

its the little supressor on the distributer.. well it usually is anyway
