i'm curently in the middle of my engine swap and i've kinda not wanting to go through the rigmoral of getting it engineered...
what exactly can the police do if they find out you have a 6 cylinder where a 4 should be?
if the penalties are serious i may ahve to get it engineered... *sigh*

Yup, any form of insurance (including personal injury conver) will be void if your car is illegally modified. Getting a car engineered isn't hard OR expensive, so do yourself a favour and get it done!

How long is a piece of string? It depends which car you have and what you've done to it. Your best bet is to speak to a certified engineer about it, then you'll get some idea what's involved. FWIW I paid $150 to get my 18R-GEU swap engineered.
