How many Trueno's in Australia? Tue, 13 May 2003 00:51 Go to next message
One of my work friends believes there are about 52 Trueno in Australia. I automatically told him he was a tool, it did get me think about how many Trueno call Australia home.

Is there a way of find out?

I have one and I know of about 4 in Adelaide that are really Truenons.

There are at least 4 that i know of that are real truenos including mine, not sprinters with pop up headlights, plus the occasinal import. But 52 over the years wouldnt be unobtanable.

I'll add to the fray then ...

There is one dark blue genuine JDM import running around up here in QLD around Sunnybank.

Apart from that, there was NoPsi's old white Trueno which has since been sold to Gaz in Melbourne. Other than that, I have only seen one other white one however both these cars are Aus spec AE86's with just a Trueno front grafted on.

I always mistake two cars for truenos...

1. The Honda Accord Hatcback...
2. The Nissan EXA.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

The Honda looks like a zenki hatch.
and the EXA looks like a kouki coupe..

Laughing

Anyone else find themselves ever making the same mistake?

In melbourne, I know of five.

1. The panda kouki trueno with the painted rims and bonnet (initial D one).
2. A NICE zenki silver and blue 2 tone.
3. PSIs old car, the nice zenki white one.
4. A red 4AC one that was advetised on the twin cam 16 forum last year, and early in the trading post this year.
5. the awesome zenki red/black two tone on sale atm in the for sale section.

Don't know how many of these are genuine or not.

One way of telling is by the rear liscence plate lights.
Another is by the AE85 (Aus Spec)interior. (Not unless the vehicle is actually a GENUINE hachi-go trueno/levin).
I'll be sure to take note the next time I see these cars around.

ROCK ON.

The I.D Trueno is a replica.

I know of 2 genuine Te47 Treunos in Melbourne, and officially i only know of one geniune ae86 Treuno.

There are 50 or so te47's apparently imported to Australia.
But now under the 15 year rule, plenty of jap spec ae86's should be available for import.

Usually theyd be premium price around the $10K mark landed and complied.
