1UZ into VL...

Assuming my wife and I sell our Soarer, I may have around $15K to spend getting/doing up a VL Calais.
Assuming I can pick up a good car for around $7k, engine for around $1500, gearbox/conversion for approx $2000 and engine management (Autronic) for around $1500, will I be able to get the labour done for the remaining $3000???
Also, would there be any interest in the RB30 (or RB30T?) and existing gearbox?
Thanks in advance...

Do you self a favour and buy a real car (maybe a Ford) There is no way you will get the labour done for $3000, you would have to do most of the work your self. It would be cheaper and easier to fit an SR20 or the like!

You can buy a nice Cressida for $7000. I think some JDM cressida's had 1UZFE engines standard.

Try for a 1JZGTE instead of the 1UZ.
It is a fairly easy conversion and performs rather well.
