I would suggest that this "quantifies" what we already knew...

We (the public) have been mis-lead by the "Road safety Industry" over many years with the "Speed Kills" bullshit, to the point where people now blindly accept the "Speed Kills" message, and it's justification for continually lower speed limits, and comensurately higher fines. Then the Government has the cheek to tell us it isn't revenue raising! Mad *Note to Politicians reading this: "Here sits one person who ISN'T fooled!"*

*end rant*

[edit: poor spell-checking]

I detest all the fixed position speed cameras in "black spots" (read: roads where most people go fast, but actually have almost no fatalities, thereby maximising profits)
I have no problems with the harbour tunnel one, stopping people doing 200km/hr through there. it's the people doing 85km/hr and getting booked that makes me hate that one.

residential zones at 50?
anyone who live in epping knows willoughby and tomah sts. they're both around 300-400m long, about 5 lanes wide... and now 50 zones.
the number of times I've seen a hwy patrol guy on tomah street booking people doing 66 in that area is stupid. considering there's only 2 accidents I've ever seen there in 22 years of living here, and one of those was a cop.
