I dont think any cars run MAP and AFM.. it'd be silly.

if it's got a map sensor, you can chuck out the AFM. (or I would)

Some engines do have AFM and MAP... 3S-GTE's for example I think, and maybe some 4A's?

Don't ask me! I'm sure Mr Toyota had his reasons though.

the factory 1G-GTE ecu only uses AFM - no MAP.

only the N/A 1G-GE used MAP (or so this page <http://www.toymods.org.au/Darren/build_notes.htm> seems to indicate)

Charles.

my 1G-GE is MAP sensor version.

if your looking for the MAP sensor it is mounted on the firewall side of the intake manifold.

The 1G-gte uses an AFM for fuel delivery. I think there is a type of MAP sensor but it's sole purpose is to tell the computer when the boost gets too high.

I am no guru on this type of thing but by memory (havn't got pics of the engine handy) isn't there a black plastic thing on top of the inlet manifold. I thought that this was what sent the boost pressure to the computer. On second thoughts, it may also be a temp sender??? Forget my last post, I have no idea what I am talking about Embarassed .
