was wondering due to the fact that the 1ggte has a map sensor do you have to have the airflow meter ????

I dont think any cars run MAP and AFM.. it'd be silly.
if it's got a map sensor, you can chuck out the AFM. (or I would)

Some engines do have AFM and MAP... 3S-GTE's for example I think, and maybe some 4A's?

my 1G-GE is MAP sensor version.
if your looking for the MAP sensor it is mounted on the firewall side of the intake manifold.

The 1G-gte uses an AFM for fuel delivery. I think there is a type of MAP sensor but it's sole purpose is to tell the computer when the boost gets too high.

I have a feeling it may be just above the oil pressure sender, but cant see real well in there.

I am no guru on this type of thing but by memory (havn't got pics of the engine handy) isn't there a black plastic thing on top of the inlet manifold. I thought that this was what sent the boost pressure to the computer. On second thoughts, it may also be a temp sender??? Forget my last post, I have no idea what I am talking about .
