Mitsubishi seems to be using this in their evo engines.. to reduce weight helping the other components rev happier.

What are your thoughts?
would you get these done on a new set of camshafts?

Which bit of the cam is hollow?

M and JZ series cams have a hollow core for oil flow to the bearing journals. If it's the lobe, then it sounds like a flashy excuse for inbuilt obsolescence. Rolling Eyes

Would I core my otherwise solid cam? For the likely imperceivable performance gain balanced against the cost and likely weakening of the shaft, a big fat NO.

18rg camshafts have a hollow core so that oil can get to all of the cam journals through its centre.

3T GTE cams are also hollow for the oil circulation.
