Im looking for a non-expensive car alarm.
Which has most or at least the following features.

* 3-Point Immobiliser (Fuel pump cut, starter cut, ? another cut)
* Shock sensor (Vibration, windscreen/window)
* Interior Ultra-Sonics
* Black-wire
* 2x key fobs with code hopping
* Battery backup siren
* Door entry triggers
* Option for power-window triggers

A few brand that come to mind are:

i put a rhino into my RA40 - they seem easy to wire up.
i also use a club lock when car is left away from home during the day,
and when at my g/f's sisters house, there's the bored and aggresive Rotweiler...

i think that's enough redudancy Wink

... if someone's keen on stealing the car, they probaby will but if you make it difficult and time consuming, you'll deter 99% of theives.

we did this theory for a thumbprint starter for a car in the IT course i did at tafe

in therory it worked a charm if you did it the right way
didnt need much computing power behind it
and it worked on a simple algoryhthym
hehe

would be good if somoene invented it
maybe i should?

Very Happy

This is already done! Not for an alarm but to allow users to securely log data radios onto a system.

ummmm anyone else notice the price range of 200-700

really, at the bottom end that'll get you the cheapest and least featured alarm on the market, and for 700 you'll get the best.

Fingerscan Biometric technogly isn't that far away for car alarm systems at decent prices. I've had a look at one the other day at the shop and currently finalsing pricing as we speak. As they say "Watch this space".

BTW I work at Car Toys, www.cartoys.com.au .

I'm looking at getting an alarm for the bus. There is a mob called Auto mirco or micron that advetise in the trader. I've seen one of there alarms in action, central looking imobiliser,shock sensors and infra read sensor, and it did deter a theif. (Pity it was in a VL) We heard the alarm go off and later the guy found a bit of his lock on the groung and a small dent in the door near the lock. The keys work from a great distance a way, alarm is all black wiring and is fairly resonbly priced ($400 range)

I'm going to give them a call in the next couple of days so i'll keep you all posted
