GEX-2 2tgeu -What do ya know bout em? Mon, 08 July 2002 09:11 Go to next message
was surprised to find that my TE71 sprinter ive had sitting on my back lawn for the last two years is a 'GEX-2' version of 2tgeu. has gex-2 written above '2tgeu' lettering on timing chain cover. also the ecu has black painted on top and bottom.

got any web links for info on this version?

ive heard they're a factory hotted up version

On the front of the head is there any head series numbers ?

If not then take of the rocker/tappet cover and look at the cams. On the long flat part at the front of the cam (where you can put a spanner) on one side is the cam part number. The part after the dash is the head series number in your case it should be -88262 which is apparently the very last of the 2TGEU's.

Thats about all I can tell you sorry.

The racing 2TG also had no numbers but was the FIRST series. Sad

hey cheers for that

the head has got numbers after the 11111- etc.

so the cam number on the 'flat' matches the head number. cool.

Karl,

What Numbers are on your head/cams tho ???

I know there were a few different Intake manifolds but I have no idea how they varied.

My EFI manifold is -88262. And it has "EFI" written on it. It has the newer stud pattern. Its not in use right now.

head # is 11111-88260
ecu toyota code is the #12030 nd=0273
also the ecu label is orange

so its not the last version 2tgeu
its also got small cam lettering which i think wasn't as good as the big lettering (something to do with compression or valve size or somethin)

do the efi manifolds have different mounting patterns?
the solex-mikunis i have fit the spare 2tgeu so i didn't think they changed at all. am i wrong?

The bolt pattern is one hole different, but it doesn't matter. Still fits, minus that bolt.
