Hi whats the story with the boot release motors?

Cheers
Stew

Hi Stew,
They're a universal fit, all you need to do is drill two mounting holes into the body of the car and thread the actuator into the release mechanism.
Yep, sorry about the lack of photos for the roll cage, still don't own a digicam, and noone ever seems to follow up on items once I go to the trouble of getting photos. Also got very busy moving house, but will try to get some to you if you're still interested?

No, wire is just wire, and you'll need a self release switch for the cabin. Buy a new one for it as the old one's covers perish over time and look like shit! I have a couple of switches too, however for the cost of a new one (~$3-5), you'd buy one quicker than I could find mine - my shed's a pigsty at the moment!

What is the 18RG air bypass/equalisation casting?
Thanks

were the boot motors used in any previous car at all?
im just trying to work out whether they would work ok on an ra28 boot, because the release catch is on the inside if the boot lid and the little bar is below attatched to the cars body. So the motor would have to be mounted somewhere near the catch on the bootlids inside, but theres not much room.

Yep it'll work. The motor in the photo actually came from my RA28 and worked fine, all I did was join the receiver at the top so the hook could never fall out(it was welded together - took about 30 seconds). The motor was mounted on the hatch and a wire run through the body of the hatch to the hinge then connected to the body. You will need to reinforce the hatch area if it's rusty to stop it flexing, otherwise you should have no problems fitting it - I didn't!
