LAN this saturday night

I'm gonna have a LAN this saturday night at my place. Let me know if you'd be interested and I'll try and find more tables/chairs.
Would be a BYO computer/monitor/etc. I've got at least 1 hub, and if there are a lot of people I'll find more.
Games played would be stuff like Raven Shield, Viet Cong, CnC Generals possibly, maybe CS (we try to stay away from it usually).
Usually make a call for pizza for dinner, and have a fridge stocked with coke.
Got a pool table for time outs, and there will be time for leaching etc. throughout the night I'm sure.
I live in Picnic Point for people that don't know me.

OK, I'll put it another way:
Try and stay away from games where you can jump while zoomed in with a sniper rifle, and get a very accurate (read BS) shot.

cheaters are the reason I stopped playing CS

And yes, cheaters get the crap belted out of them  . And their PCs confiscated.

I just bought a new video card too, but moving my PC is as easy as moving house

They had from memory 14 pc's set up in one little room... But was still a great night...

I've got my 8 port switch, but a mate is currently holding some gear for a big LAN, so he might bring down a 24 port 10/100 switch so we can all be on the same hub.
I've got the whole lot of initial-D, including videos and comics.
HSVgal, its in my Garage at home. Because my house is on a flood plain we can't have any living areas down stairs, so its one big open garage, with a 5 bedroom house on top.
I think the most I've had down there is about 20. Any more and theres always a couple of people that want to go and play their own game, or are constantly leaching.

Its a tiny (240k?) addon.
Its crappy because the only thing you can do is drive around, go on the smash-m-up derby and the stunt bike rink. Theres no other cars just the people playing. Theres no missions. The connection and multiplayer gameplay isn't the best, its a bit buggy - you see the person on the ground and you can shoot them and blood comes out, but on their screen they're running away!
Might do a quick search for an upgrade.

hmmm, does sound a little dodgy
my brother and i got to talking once (we have ps2 version) and reconed that the only think missing from the game was multiplayer, but i guess they need to do some more r&d to get it right.

the whole structure of the game would have to change.... there would need to be a dedicated "world server" of some sort that just looked after the city and all the inhabitants, and all the players would then have to link into that to share the same world. This would of course be prohibitive for most people at home.
Linking them as they are now with all the cars, people, missions etc would require so much synchronisation and communication between all the PC's that a gigabit network would be the minimum requirement!
Although... i do want to see it happen!!!

yeah, network traffic would be a nightmare
but i was thinking that if they design it similally to what i imagine it is now, in that the only persistant changable parts of the environment being the car crashes (i think there is a vanishing point 'bubble' around the player so that cars/pedesrians only occur with that bubble) it shouldn't be to bad, only when multiple players are within viewing distance of each other would there be syhc issuses.
