icon4.gif  Increasing An Engines Redline ?? Fri, 12 July 2002 10:07 Go to next message
ok, so say i decide to add a mildish street performance cam to my engine...

all's good except the cam doesnt come on till after the 'normal' redline of my engine. what do i have to do to my engine to let it rev past its 5,800 redline to say 7,000rpm??

- heavier valve springs, but how heavy is heavy enough?
- ?
- what else????

and for your enjoyment, heres another dyno graph. BOLD is the engine with new cam profile. note the rpm shift (bugger!)

ok, so im enjoying my new dyno program...can you blame me?

cheers
ed

Ed, Sean (MS75) had a self imposed 7800 rpm redline on his 5M. I'd ask him!
