Woohoo, i finally found one. One of my mates was on his way to tafe and saw a Celica for sale so he messaged me. I've seen it there b4 but it has never been for sale, not until today. It was a 2 hour walk but worth it. It was in emmaculate condition. Perfect paint including engine bay, 18RG Twin Carby engine done 65000km, new gearbox & clutch, new 6" tyres and discs, extractors, new 2" exhaust all the way through, perfect interior, a box full of spare parts (indicators etc.) new battery, new radiator, new diff. Paid $5900 with receipts for everything that add up to $9000 including original purchase. Ill put some pics up during the next few days. He had it up for sale for 3 hours before i bought it lol thats gotta be a record.

Hehehe I remember clocking my blue RA28. Very exciting, shame it doesn't get that new car warrenty. The diff and gear box shit themselves shortly after. I'm thinking that there should have been 2 or 3 or maybe even 4 before all thoes zero's.

Yeah, I'm coming up to the 79,000 in mine.
But as it came out of a Celica at the wrecker's I don't have a clue how many km's my engine has done.
It doesn't even have the original head on it anymore so my guess is the block would have easily done 400,000.

Yeah mine has clocked around once since i've owned it.. On 30,000 or so now..
Mind you the AE86 is on 495,000! Maybe not having that extra digit isn't all bad as pushing 500,000km is scary haha.

my ra23 some days the odometer will pick up like 20ks for every 1k i do and other days it seems to work fine, very odd...anyway since i bought it about 2 months ago, according to my odometer ive done over 20,000ks...very annoying as i would of barely done 2,000...is this a common problem or something ?

haha yeah, its not as bad as it looks, its a bit of rust showing though, im gonna get it cut out when i get some more money together. theres a bit of stuff i want to do to it still. but all the super expensive stuff is done i think.
I want to get central locking, power windows, remote entry, get the locks cut out, get a few nice looking chrome pipes under the hood, an immobiliser and alarm, tinted windows and get that bit of rust fixed and now that u mention it, probably the rivet lol. A lot of money when they all get added up, ill have to put them in a list and prioritise them.
The interior is like new except for the gear knob lol. I found a cool one for 40 bucks. Bottom half yellow, top half clear and has a red back in the middle.
can we have a bit of a vote? who thinks black bumbers who thinks chrome?

Car looks really good.
I'm a big fan of the chrome. But the rest of the chrome bits have been painted over as well, like around the windscreen and back window etc. So if you go chrome bumpers then take the rest back to chrome as well.

personally i think the black is something different and looks pretty good ? maybe he was trying to cover up the fact that the original chrome bumpers are covered in rust spots ?
