yes you can join up on the day... it only costs $40 to become a member...
and as long as your car is toyota powered and meets the other entry requirements you will be eligible for the trophy
as for people riding on the bonnet... that will be at the discretion of the dyno operator
generally its an unsafe practice but if the traction issues are a problem it will be up to the operator to solve them... and yes that then may be an option
hope to see you there

Dear nvassiliades,
Last Dyno Day the Killerwatt King also had traction issues so the four heaviest guys available packed into the car to increase the traction.
As for the type of Dyno it is a 4WD Dyno Dynamics Dyno....very similar to the one used at Summer Nats.
Your membership will be more than welcome, just out of curiosity what type of car do you have and what engine is in it???
I am just asking in case you are a threat to my title...
It will be great to see you there.

nvassiliades,
The Details for whats been done to Tina's Car can be found here in the members listing.
http://www.toymods.org.au/tina_try.html
Its actually doesn't look as nice in person those pictures are almost 2 years old and do it more than justice. (Alot more !)
As for its best time down the Qtr thats also on the club records page. Currently the "pornstar" as its know hold both the Dyno day and Qtr mile records for the N/A Under 1800cc class but competition is very close so you never know what could happen this Sunday.
We had a couple of Starlets at the last Dyno Day actually so with any luck they will be there again and you can see what different mods can yield to the same car. The pic in your avatar looks good. Not everyones avatar is actually there car.
The results from the last Dyno Day in January are in the previous events section. Check here for the results :
http://nark.qnix.com.au/Dyno_Day_4/
Hope to see you there on Sunday.

3 MORE TROPHIES !!!
|
Wed, 03 July 2002 00:06
|
|
Would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to Jake for helping support the club this Sunday (As he always Does).
Jake has managed to arrange a Sponsor for 3 new Trophies on the Dyno Day this Sunday. The NSW Rail Transport Museam has very Kindly donated 3 Trophies for the following 3 "Classes"
Top FWD Vehicle Top RWD Vehicle Top 4WD Vehicle
Class regulations are pretty obvious but so there is no confusion.
To be elegibal for Trophies you must be a Financial Member of Toymods and have a Toyota Powered Vehicle. Clearly the drive train cofigeration will dictate which of the 3 new Trophies you car would be elegible.
Hope to see a Good Turnout of GT4's there as now there is something for you guys to fight over
See you all on the day. After all it is...
THIS SUNDAY !!!

QYK11E, you and your car are more then welome to join mate. You probably dont remember me but we had a friendly street battle one night a while ago in a 5 door turbo Laser ITS-16T.Your car has come along way since then and it will be good to see the 1.3 beast fire up the rollers.Hope to see ya there.
Gary,I will be bringing the celica this time as I missed out last time. The car is running rich and is down on power. With your newly upgraded turbo and 205 power plant you will be suprised at the improvement.Once you get your downpipe your car will be a serious weapon. My car has been tuned for safety (poor original internals )and is running at 14psi off a T-Piece until my ACV-R is repaired. If you run about 18 to 19psi I wouldnt be suprised if you beat me. Should be a great Day!!!!

I will be meeting Josh (EMP-2TG) at Wentworthville Maccas, at about 7:30. We're not gonna be hanging round to talk, as there will be plenty of time for that at the when we're all there.
So if anyone's driving past and wants to meet up for the drive there, you're more than welcome. Wentworthville maccas is on Parramatta rd, on the left heading west, and just after the big intersection with the cumberland hwy.

The part where Parramatta Rd meets the Cumberland (and the Woodville) doesn't have a Maccas anywhere near it...
Where are you thinking?

I'll bring my rolla and see how little power it is currently making. After that I'll get a full mandrel bent exhaust and another dyno to compare the differences.
Wenty Maccas is pretty close to the intersection between cumberland hwy and great western hwy. At the intersection if you head west down the great western you'll see it! Can't miss the golden arches.
How late can you turn up and still get a dyno done? I may have to get someone else to drive my car.

Nick,
The SAS dyno seemed to be pretty close to the Premier Auto Dyno for Figures actually. Both are Dyno Dynamics units and comparing the the dyno graphs lying around here they aren't to far appart.
Looks like a pretty serious engine there mate I can't wait to see how it goes. Do you have an expectation of what it will do ?
No worries if you wanna keep that quiet till Sunday of course
See you there

Well if anything it's pretty much in the same state as it was at the SAS. The SAS used some new Type of dyno in which i didn't really like. I Prefer Dyno Dynamics. At the moment my AVC-R is playing up..... There is 2 things i am afraid of and that is
1) If i put the car on the dyno for the first run and then the car doesn't boost up---- 2) The car runs well on the Dyno spins on the rollers..
i am not sure if you were at the SAS but i had to get a few guys to sit on the car otherwise it spins and makes no power.
* Lets Just hope i make it there first *

Hey Lucid, spoke to Daniel and said he will be there with the laser. For that friendly midnight run we had the laser pulled away from the starlet. Were talkin a long time ago now and the starlet was just starting to get serious. The GT has come a very long way and would put the laser away now.
The laser has developed over the years also and is a real road weapon but that GT is nUtZ.Can you both say Traction
Im a big fan of these pocket rockets

Danny,
That sounds great, another ST205, it will be great to compare. I might be installing a fuel cut defender and cranking the boost up to 20PSI but im not sure if it will lean out, although i think it should be fine at 18PSI.
Anyone know whether 20PSI will be too much?

Gary,if your using a turbosmart controller or similar equipment I would keep it to 18psi and allow for a boost spike.I belive that you are still using your standard actuator and with your high flow it will be more diffiult to maintain boost.....then again you are running the standard downpipe so making boost levels that high could be a problem.
My suggestion is play it safe on the dyno and only run 7psi then crank it up after sunday when there is no trophy to worry about

Anhar, After thinking about it i've decided to set it at 17PSI and allow for spike.
7PSI , I just couldnt do that to myself, I recon id be able to get rid of the turbo attach a hose to the throttle body and blow that much air in there myself.
As for the trophy i dont think my car has quite got what it takes to take home the trophy.
