Hey Guys,

We found an ad in the trading post that reads as follows.

TOYOTA CELICA TA22 1972 Model, 1.6 intercooled turbo twin cam fuel injected motor, just rebuilt, Haltech computer, custom interior, lowered with Dragway mags etc, offers near $4500 or swap for 4 seater 4WD, TA-2272 NEWCASTLE 02-4958 1844 bh or 02-49641218 ah Steve

Sounds good eh?

Well he never told us on the phone that the who front of the car is plastic not classic...

Attached is what it looks like.
The photo makes it look pretty good, but the bog under the paint is lumpy and cracking.
The bonnet has been changed to a suicide one!

Its running a 2TG with 3T GTE exhaust manifold and CT20.
Rods have been shot peened and its using Fedral Mogul pistons, 7MGTE injectors and its claimed to make 130rwKw. All through a a T50 and T series diff. which "handles it fine"

The interior has been redone and it has nice looking Integra seats.

The skirts I can deal with(side that is), the bonet looks like hes trying to make it look like a GT4 or a Ford Falcon, paint is awesome, interior...well the seats are ok the rest.... I dunno I kinda half like it in a way...but the bonet & front kit would have to go. But then again I'd rather put a 1G in my car and paint it that colour, although the mustard is growing on me Very Happy

*Puts on helmet and full body armour*
I actuly really like this front end Embarassed and thats funny cause i hate falcons. The headlights i would prefer the origional but these ones are still good. I like the front spoiler but the mesh makes it look a little ricey. I dont like the toyota logo in the bonnet for the intercooler cause its too ricey but i give it full marks for effort as it looks like its done well. If it was a few months ago b4 i had brought my celica stuff i would have seriously brought this.
*starts running*
please don't beat me too badly for liking this

No way is that front end done well. Look at the front bar, and compare it to the rest of the car. Where the celica has sharp lines, the front looks like melted plastic. Hell, even the parts that are meant to be smooth are curvy and melted. It doesn't even line up properly, check out the huge gap underneath the front indicator.

What an ugly piece of shit. Seriously, what is the go with giving 70's cars front bars that are so low to the ground that they belong on a V8 Supercar? 1970's cars look good riding low, but FFS, don't make it look like a car from the 90's, it just doesn't work.
