Hey...
I was doing some work on my new 18r-gu 2day...and my mate decides to torque up the rocker cover nuts and he wrenched them up and cracked the rocker cover...
i know its a hefty fine that ill be paying if i wanted a recond/new one.
Im not sure if it can be welded because it looks like a diecast alliminium...
does anyone have any ideas...
im soo pissed off about it... Mad Mad I dont know what to do from here...
Does anyone have a good rocker cover they would like to sell to me?
Thanks alot guys..

Get it welded and the bolts do not need to be tighened up tight they only need to be firm and rechecked every now and again .

I know where there are replacements in Adelaide, I think they were about $40, maybe I can find one for less.

Let me know if you're interested.

Take it to a TIG welder and ask him how much to repair it? Often, it will be cheaper to buy a second hand one than repair it, let me know if you need a few contacts with such parts?

Get a quote for welding it and see how that compares, I don't know how much for shipping to Perth, sadly, posting things to Perth is not one of my many hobbies Very Happy

Let me know what you want to do when you decide.

If it's cracked and not broken just give it grind in the cracked area and devcon it. If you need to buy the devcon then you will prolly find it cheaper to have it welded.
