springs for ae86 setup Thu, 09 October 2003 04:59 Go to next message
i got a stock ae86..thinking of just getting springs at the moment..

what kinda brand and specs should i go for looks wise, good enough for beginner in dorifto...

i'm planning mod lil by lil and need to know which springs to get...

my objective is savvy in value, good enough to learn, investment for the future so i don't have to change springs again in the future..and probably 2" low enough to get some nice looks ..

opinion guys..

As far as I know......... Lovells is the only ones that I know that will even come close to 2" drop. Once again... I stress that this will be a very cosmetic spring. Low does not automatically equal = "dorifto" to use your own words.

I'd try Whiteline, and they can get/make the struts and shocks matched to your springs to suit the best handling. You can download the pdf file from their site.

Dont go to low with the standard struts and shocks(less then 50mm), you'll regret it, ive been there, and i came back real quick, way to bouncy even for me, and i dont normally care how bouncy it is.

Hope it all works out for ya!!

so i shouldnt go more lower than 2" (50mm) if i'm using my standard struts and shocks rite?

so anywhere between 1.5"-2" would be alright?

shinybluesteel...

What springs did ya get to drop the car that low ?
At the moment i think i've got a bad batch of king springs and the thing is way too high.

What handling problems do / did ya have running that low?

Thanks

James
