if it was turbo (manual or auto) yes, i would even swap it sraight up.
na silivas are the slowest cars in the world, and 3g probably wouldnt cover an engine conversion, not to mention brakes etc.

iv heard they are slow and gutless. Been looking around for sr20 half cuts and you can pick them up for around 3500 for the s13.

i can hear a bastardisation call coming on.....
I wouldn't swap it... no way. Especially for an S13 which is the modern equivalent of a Gemini in terms of typical owners and status.
I just really hate S13's

I disagree, My brother has recently bought a SR20DE S13 silvia and it runs about even with my 3TGTE.

Has it been tuned properly since the Haltech was installed. I would've thought a fully rebuilt 3TGTE with an aftermarket ECU would go pretty hard.
Failing that, it might be something small, but usually you can notice something like that i.e. spark plugs stuffed.

I need new distributer leads, but that wouldnt be the reason it is running as shit as it is. The haltech needs a huge tune up. Apparently its running TPS instead of MAPS, maybe that is the reason it is running so shit.....?????

hey ta23 who tuned yr haltech
on boosted cars u should always use map for the fuel mapping
tps on boost is not as accurate for tuning
go the s13
in the long run u spend less money on the sr20 to get it goin harder than a 3tg
plus the sr has many more off the shelf good gear
plus im a nissan person

I havent had it tuned since after the rebuild, the guy that owned it before me is responsible for the TPS, I will be getting it tuned up after a new turbo and intercooler go on there.
Pretty sure he said the S13 was a 1.8 ltr, meaning it is a CA18DE, and a SR20DET front cut is rather expensive.

point taken smart arse haha
i didnt read it right.
yes the s13 i was offered is only a NA CA18. but done a bit of research and Sr20det cuts are roughly 3500.
so id fall about 500-800$ short but thats alright i thought.
i dunno...argh

tough boat your in I guess, the SR20DET will put out good power, but you will own a car that many others own, so it wont be as original.
Guess the decision is totally up to you, depends really on what you would rather... good luck with the desicion.
