1983 Aus-Spec Sprinter
254,000km (bloody good for a 20 year old car)
Dark Blue
K-Mac Suspension
Finer Filter Pod Filter
JDM 97kw Bigport Factory RWD 4AGE
JDM EFI fuel tank
Sccuciara II 15" x 6.5" rims
2" (i think?) exhaust
JVC Head Unit
2 Speakers in Front Doors
Had a reconditioned alternator (with warranty) put in approx a week ago.
Comes with spare Diff Housing + Rear Drum Brakes if you want them.
Condition Notes: I am going to be very honest here as i am not out to rip anyone off and not tell the whole story.
* Paint on Bonnet/Roof/Tailgate is a bit shabby (as you would expect with a 20 year old factory paint job).
* Minor carpark dents etc (car doors opened into it etc) on the sides
* Diff isn't in the greatest of conditions (whirrs a bit, etc).
* Windscreen has a couple of chips/scratches on it (But still passed roadworthy inspection)
* Little spots of rust in the usual places - Front of the rear wheel archs, Back left corner of the tailgate (inside near the window rubber), Underneath the side mirrors.
* Dash is cracked, but has a dash mat over it so you can't notice it
* Drivers seat has a bit of a tear in the side bolster, but you can't even notice with seat covers on it.
* Engine blows a bit of smoke on cold startup (Valve stem seals)
Mechanically the car is great... It has the tell tale 20 year old car worn rubbers here and there but for the price and the age you must expect that.
Engine runs like a gem, as i said earlier, it can be a little bit smokey on cold startup but that is pretty on par with most cars. Thicker oil should fix this. Engine runs and revs fantastically and I've just replaced the alternator (have receipts). Diff is a bit on the whirry side but it's the standard diff, the 4AGE is obviously much more powerful than the 4AC, although this one is holding up, depending on your driving style you might want to look at replacing it down the track for one of the LSD variety. Either that or weld this one up if it is to your fancy.
That is all i can think of at the moment, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
I would be asking for around $5500 ono.
Car is in Brisbane

*Edit* - Car now has current roadworthy certificate and 6 months rego (May 2004)

Haha, i get alot of comments, some good, some bad about my wheels... seems you either love them, or you hate them... personally, i'd rather something else, but thats what came with the car, and haven't really come across anything that catches my fancy yet

Car has done 250,000km
You could continue to drive it with the valve stems as they are, as it barely uses any oil (maybe 300mL per 6000km sorta thing, and i'm guessing a fair bit of that is from the oil leak, lol). It blows smoke for maybe 1 or 2 seconds on cold startup, and thats all i've noticed, so they're not OVERLY bad

Lol, don't really want an MA61, but thanks for the offer
To be honest with you, i have no idea how many KM's the engine has done as i bought the car already like this, but its a good, clean engine, oil usually stays clean for about the first 3000km after an oil change.

JDM 86kw Bigport Factory RWD 4AGE
|
Im sure you are aware that a proper JDM 4A-GE is actually not 86kw but 97kw (130hp) if your motor is an 86kw 4A-GE, it would more than likely be an AE82 4A-GE swapped to suit a RWD application

To me it looks like, a 86kw because the cam covers have got black writing, if they are the originals it would be 86. The bigport 4age normally comes with the Blue writing on the covers. and the 100Kw Red writing.
Please guys, tell me if im wrong.

Yes, they have black writing, the 'Toyota' and the 'Twin Cam' words are in black and the '16 Valve' words are in blue

This is infact a JDM conversion.
It even has the JDM efi fuel tank fitted.
You are pretty good to be able to tell a 86kw and a 97kw motor apart from a picture.
|
i wasnt going by the picture, nor was i saying it was a certain motor. He had in his first post "JDM", "RWD 4AGE" and "86kw"
JDM motors were 97kw
the other Big port 4AGE's are 86kw
understand?
So many ppl make this simple mistake
Good luck with the sale anyways man

I'm going soft in my old age

Car was taken for a roadworthy test on Wednesday, and passed with flying colours. The only thing they picked on it for was the rear hatch struts weren't holding the hatch up properly, so i replaced them with AE82 struts and it passed roadworthy. Car also comes with rego until may 2004
