A man was working on his motor cycle on his patio. His wife was in the kitchen. While operating the engine, the motor cycle accidentally slipped into gear. The man, holding onto the handle bars, was dragged along as it burst through the glass patio doors. His wife, hearing the crash, ran in to the room to find her husband, badly cut and bleeding, the stalled and damaged motor cycle and the shattered patio door. She quickly called for an ambulance. Because the house was on a fairly steep hill, she went down the several flights of stairs to meet the paramedics at the roadway and to escort them to her husband. While the attendants were loading her husband onto the stretcher, the wife managed to up-right the motorcycle and to push it back onto the patio. She also quickly cleaned up the spilled gasoline with paper towels. With safety in mind she tossed them into the toilet. After the man had been treated for his injuries and was released by the hospital, his wife drove him home. Still hurting from his accident he inspected the damage sustained to the shattered patio door and his motorcycle. He was visibly shaken by the turn of events. In due course nature called and he had to visit the bathroom. While answering the call, he decided he should steady his nerves with a cigarette. When he was finished, and about to return to a standing position, he flipped the now finished cigarette butt between his legs. The wife, who was in the kitchen, heard a loud explosion and then her husband screaming for help. She found him lying on the bathroom floor with his trousers blown away and burns on his buttocks, legs and groin. She once again called in for emergency service, and the same paramedic crew was dispatched. As the paramedics carried the man back down the stairs to the ambulance his wife revealed how he had come to burn himself. They found the circumstances amusing and laughed so energetically, that one paramedic
slipped, upsetting the stretcher and dumping the husband out of
tumbled down the remaining stairway, breaking his arm.
